granny.jpgWith Buick concentrating on the Chinese market, Cadillac going for a younger demographic and the Lincoln Town Car's future uncertain, someone has to take up the slack for us alter kochers. Toyota has a head start with the Avalon, but Nissan's making a move on the geriatric market. TheMatureMarket.co quotes Renault/Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn as he states the obvious: "The average consumer on earth is going to be much older. We know also that usually the purchasing power is with older people. [That means] more money in the hands of the seniors and more seniors on earth." Watch for more Nissans featuring geezer-friendly technology such as backup cameras and perimeter sensors in the near future. Carlos didn't say if his company is working on a way to automatically cancel the turn signal after the car reaches a certain speed on the highway.

“a way to automatically cancel the turn signal after the car reaches a certain speed on the highway”.

Thanks for the laugh! Buicks really need this feature.

Perhaps Nissan could be first to market with a warning system that detects when drivers behind you are flashing their brights while you travel 10 MPH below the speed limit in the left lane.

I haven’t had a car in over a decade that didn’t beep & scream at me if my turn signal was left on too long.

I’d rather have an oil slick button for tailgaters.

Lincoln currently has a warning bell that sounds when the turn signal is left on too long.

Or just warn you when you’re 10 mph below the speed limit.

Or hanging around too long in the left lane.

    Either will work for me.

How about a periscope? How many times have I seen a little old lady driving who’s eyeballs are barely at hood level? You drive by and all you see is the top of her blue hair in the driver’s seat.

The first car I ever experienced this in was a 1991 Buick LeSabre- sometimes the General really knows thier demographic, pete. But the funniest part of this article is how a Southern-based military guy correctly quoted a Yiddish expression. Farago I understand, but Williams? Good job!

In all seriousness, great writing in general and great idea for a News Blog. I really appreciate what you bring to the site.
