accord-frame.jpgOur [non Dodge] intrepid reporters at the North American International Auto Show– Mssrs. Montgomery and Mehta– are calling it a day. It's been a historic moment for The Truth About Cars; Frank and I are proud of our electronic collaboration. We didn't offer the breadth of coverage that other, better equipped and more experienced members of the media swarm have produced. And our technology could use a bit of an upgrade. But it's been a Hell of a start, well in keeping with TTAC's tone and no-holds-barred traditions. Tomorrow is the big day, when our warmed-up journalists mobilize their mojo, and TTAC's MIA big gun commentators return to their cubicles, loaded for bear. I certainly hope you'll join us for the festivities. Meanwhile, if you want to see today's scalps, click on the links below. Thanks for being there.

What a half-assed refresh of the F-150, Ford’s most important product. I thought it was the best looking truck on the market before but now there’s just too much chrome and the design loses the cohesiveness it had before, while still looking like just a mild refresh like the Super Duties And speaking of half-assed refreshes, did they even change the Corolla at all besides the grille? The interior looks a little different, and the grille is from the Camry SE, but the rear end looks the same as it has for the last decade. I don’t know how much of the car is new but they’re not gonna fool anyone with that new Corolla. Thankfully for them, they could have put a Corolla nameplate on the new Focus and it would still sell

BMW sure seems to be trying to go green in every which way.

Let’s hurry up and think of some clever metaphor for the new Honda Pilot front end. Looks like Bug Eyed Earl from the Red Meat comic strip.

I think the F-150 is pretty well done, about on schedule for a mid-generation face-lift.

Great work guys. Glad TTAC could make it there.

I agree sfl2113, the F-150 looks like a very mild refresh…nothing more than a ugly front clip and ugly rear taillights. Other than that…it is the same, exterior wise. Interior is even worse. WAY, way too many buttons. Couple that with carry-over engines and it is a joke. Does Ford realize that the new Super Duty looks terrible? Why copy it, badly, I might add?

The Ram, however is leaps and bounds above the previous model. Chrysler’s hard work really shows.

The Flex is a station wagon…and the only “cool” station wagon on the market is the 90K, 500+ HP Mercedes E63 AMG (not to mention that the name “Ford Flex” reminds me of tough trash bags (Glad “Force Flex” trash bags))

Speaking of the Ram, didn’t you get any pictures of it? Or had it not been ‘unveiled’ yet?

The Ram has been unveiled; I’ve seen pics of it elsewhere.

I moved away from Detroit almost 10 years ago. Going to the NAIAS is one of the few things I miss about the area. Thanks for bringing the show to my PC!
