Chang Feng Motors one is one of a few Chinese automakers who crossed the Pacific to attend the North American International Auto Show. They did so to unveil their Liebao CS7 cute ute and Kylin mini-minivan today. Chang Feng want to start importing these babies into the U.S. in two to three years time– provided they can form a partnership with an existing distributor or U.S. factory. Chang Feng is already in a joint venture partnership with Mitsubishi, and manufactures a variety of vehicles based on various Mitsu SUVs. So you have to wonder why they don't just latch onto Mitsu here too. After all, anyone who can "manufacture off-road vehicles with world-class technology" using "the top engine of Mitsubishi, six-jar motive force" producing "consummate off-road performance, allocate completely, adorn luxuriously inside, it is comfortable and honourable to enjoy" shouldn't have any problems mastering American culture, right? Well, I was at Detroit last year as well. The prototypes that they had on display were so poorly made that you could see through some of the gaps in the panels. I also love the quotes from their website… if you have a chance go to a site ” http://www.engrish.com/ ” . Same stuff. Funny!
When the vehicles were unveiled, did the audience gasp and exclaim “oo ee, oo ah ah”?
Folks, don’t miss Chang Feng’s website. There you will find their cars have such features as “frontrow belt…redirector…syringe offront light…grasses sunshade…stepney…oil box tool.” The “anticollisional body” should prevent crashes. Just make sure your new Chang Feng has all the equipment promised: “The above-mentioned [specifications] is not the standard for the inspection, and Chang Feng Motors Co.,Ltd has the right to interpret them.”
Hey Robert, You need to get Sajeev the high priced disposible camera!!!
Wow…just…wow.
I went to their website and looked at the product link – the translation is so poor I now have a headache and think I lost a few IQ reading in the process.
From the ChangFeng “Black Giant” specs:
Turning: Steering wheel
Nice, I’m glad that they’re not using a rudder.
Everybody Chang Feng tonight!
“The PAJERO is energicthough being quiet.controlling it can be full of pleasant sensation. Let’s wake PAJERO up, wake the impulse that you take risks up again.”
Sounds like some kind of hypnotic suggestion…
Taking up risks again; yes, that’s pretty high on my list! No doubt the Pajero’s battleship-like construction will add said risk to everyday driving.
Someone’s head will roll for having Engrish on the website. China is spending big bucks ahead of the olympics to eliminate these fantastic goofs.
