webcam.jpgBased on his first two posts, it was clear that the Chicago Auto Show's Internet Director, Mark Bilek was spoiling for a fight with someone. Anyone. As long as it was a blogger. Not surprisingly, he got his wish. Autoblog (AB) asked its readers to watch the 24-hour webcams covering the autoshow's construction for a new car before its official debut. Bilek went ballistic. Rather than just pull the plug on the cameras quietly, Bilek excoriated AB via the Chicago Auto Show Blog (Showlopnik). "Now for an episode of 'When blogging goes bad.' All Chicago Auto Show Web cam fans can thank AutoBlog.com… Thanks to your friends at AutoBlog, the Web cams are disabled. It is one thing to leave the cams up for the general public, but it's another when they are used for a Web site's personal promotion. Yea, I got a screen cap for you AutoBlog, it's a big middle-finger salute from all of the Web cam fans of the Chicago Auto Show thanking you for keeping them in the dark." This is the same guy who previously knocked blogs as being spiteful, overly opinionated and unprofessional. Mote. Beam. Eye. Done.

Wow, what a jackass! Want some cheese with that whine?

I love how he writes a blog, yet talks about how everyone has one.

If you don’t want people seeing vehicles before they’re revealed, then is it wise to have webcams anyway?

This guy has to be an evil genius. I’m not being sarcastic. The only reason the Chicago Auto Show holds any interest for me is because I live in the suburbs and occasionally attend it. Mark Bilek now has every auto blog and many other “legitimate” auto news sites covering this. Other than his little rants, can anyone name something interesting about this particular auto show?

If you don’t want people on the Internet looking at your webcams while things are being set up, don’t leave them on.

Why does this guy have this job anyway? It’s like he hates the Internet…

Who picks these morons for these positions. Lets pick the guy that can piss off the most people and ruin our site traffic. Autoblog gets scolded for sending internet traffic in their direction. Here’s a though instead of turning off the webcams point them at cars we have already seen that way you don’t spoil anything new.
