First of all, I apologize again for the broken comments function. As a survivor of the early PC, I know the agony of dysfunctional if not downright evil computing. As a smart ass kid in a school where corporal punishment wasn't the name of a porn star, I know the frustration of not being able to speak the truth. Thanks for all the emails giving us a heads-up, and your patience awaiting the site's restoration. Second, a big thank you to Justin for his sterling work at the New York Auto Show. I still think I should have "accidentally" fallen and grabbed the sheet covering the Hyundai Genesis concept while Justin just "happened" to be taking some photos of the liggers. But otherwise, Justin's editorial judgment is pure TTAC, AND the guy's a hard worker who knows his onions. Well done that man. And kudos to Frank Williams for holding down the fort. We literally couldn't have done it without him. I'm proud that Frank considers TTAC a worthy place to hang his hat. And, of course, thank you for your e-patronage, our raison d'etre.

The Spring Hill assembly plant is where they’re building the Chevy Traverse. Why they’re not building them at the Delta Township plant where they build the other three Lambdas is beyond me. There wouldn’t be any added workload because the bulk of Traverse sales will come from cannibalizing the other three.
Or maybe that’s GM’s plan. Once Traverse eats enough of the others’ sales, they’ll be able to cut production back enough to justify closing Delta Township and shift all production to Spring Hill where operating expenses are lower.
For the record, I want a Pontiac El Camino.
If it comes with a clutch, I buy it.
Mr. Farago needs to lock himself in the bathroom when doing these podcasts.

Uh, how do you mean that?

Isn’t that what Bob Lutz would do?
I think he means the “Hold on, WHAT?”
Ah, the Lola (my four-year-old) intercession. I certainly HOPE that’s what he means.

Yes. Turning to speak to someone else besides the other person in the podcast is…lame. :/ The bathroom reference is to isolate yourself from the environment…
And start using Skype…or something else 21st century :)

Wow, tough crowd here.
I think Saturn was a great idea, but GM and the UAW destroyed the brand as well.
Three or six times a podcast – you mention a car post or an article post somewhere – how about linking what the hell you’re talking about in that paragraph somewhere – good idea?
I own a Geo, mileage avg. is 50 mpg. You can buy a Toyota gas model that gets 37 mpg, it cost 12K and the Prius for 24K. Who would be brain dead enough to buy the Prius. Free gas for the first 100,000 miles. Then replace the batteries for another free 60,000 miles.
I have worked at car dealerships for 30 years, including Toyota stores. The Toyota car is not anymore reliable than the U. S. models. The first cars from Japan were simple vehicles. They developed their reputation from this starting point. Put on all the fancy options and they are all the same. They all use some of the same parts, assembled by the same people.
When you buy a foreign car the profit goes overseas. The profit is the future.
