TTAC's general policy on press embargoes: no. RF believes that any media outlet that agrees to keep their mouth shut on behalf of a manufacturer is colluding with that manufacturer against the consumer's best interest. And yet, this morning, that's exactly what I did. I signed a piece of paper at the press launch for Ford Flex crossover– without reading the fine print. Which committed me to hanging fire until mid-June. And so I must honor that agreement. (For this I went to law school?) I have re-written my previous post to exclude any and all driving impressions gleaned during the Flex launch. The full review will appear as Ford desires: on June 12. I apologize without reservation to Ford for violating our agreement, and to any of my colleagues who may feel aggrieved by TTAC's "premature" post.

Well, there is technically going to be a Lincoln, but it will be about as similar to the Flex as the MKS is to the current Taurus – ie, not at all.
There’s so much chrome on that ass already, a Mercury version would be redundant. But then again, which Mercury isn’t?
If there’s not going to be a Lincoln version, why am I working 10 hours a day designing the parts for it?

trttl5000: does anyone else think it looks like a mini clubman? Me. And I think a MAXI MINI is an excellent idea, too. But the third row rear headroom could be a real deal killer. I suppose it they lifted the Flex’ lid another couple of inches, the mpgs would have gone down. Seems like another example where the mpg-minded marketing boys called the shots (Honda’s overly raked windscreens are another example).
I managed to read the post, it was a teaser at best, I doubt it violated the agreement.
Of greater importance, it sounds like Ford has a winner. Let’s hope so.
Robert—as far as 3rd row headroom—how bad are we talking ? Can kids travel back there ? Are we talking anyone over 5′ 5″ need not apply ?
