Is it just me, or does the IS250 have a better interior than the ES350, which is more expensive?
Well, I too could produce a confused mess of a car by loading it with Dynamat, compensating for the increased mass by shoehorning the biggest V8 I can under the hood, and catering to the poseur market by fitting an automatic gearbox. Brilliant!
I kid, Lexus. Good job.

Yeah, I think the IS interior is better than the ES. In fact, I think the 3 generations of ES300s from 1992 to 2005 have nicer interiors than the current model (I have the 2002 ES300). Talk about serious cost cutting.
Needless to say, it’s not on my future shopping list.

Also, this vid was a little lame, but it does a good job of presenting the auto show experience. Sound deadening is teh sweetz.

Relax. You’re just experiencing a reaction quite similar to spending actual seat time in a Lexus.
I drove a Boxster S and a SC430 back to back once. Maybe I’m not the right demographic for a Lexus. Very dissociative.
The SC430 is a heavy old man cruiser. not a sports ride. It compares poorly to just about everything.
The IS-F is the best product Lexus has. I love the front being wider and more aggressive looking to stuff in that 5.0L v8. It’s a great shifter too, very nice rumble. All in all a good job by lexus. Pretty much the rest of the lineup puts a guy to sleep. I used to be a Lexus sales person and it still put me too sleep.
The only fans that Lexus has are the ones they put in the HVAC systems. Which BTW are very quiet and very reliable.
