I thought it was suitably humorous. How else do you portray the Yaris, but as a goofy little comedy car? If you’re trying to sell a pomeranian, you don’t show it chasing a burglar out the back door – you put a little hat on it and get it to dance. I think I need to go lie down now.

In my opinion, the only really good subcompact commercials were Nissan’s subcompact-that-won’t-make-you-want-to-kill-yourself ads for the Versa. They were excellent parodies of prescription commercials, and actually conveyed some valuable information about the car.

The Yaris looks like a ’50s table radio, and I can summon up about as much interest in this commercial as I can about watching someone throw a ’50s table radio into a swimming pool.

Would’ve been funnier if they used the catapult to launch the car into the air.

Where did the car end up? Is it sitting in the ocean as small artificial reef?

It’s certainly way better than that excreable iQ commercial from yesterday. This is funny. Once.

The best part was the jump at the end, I haven’t seen that in a Toyota ad in years.

I also haven’t watched a lot of TV in years so….

It wasn’t even funny, it was just stupid.

Absurdest humor (the kind that Warners and Jack Benny pioneered) lives! The rev sound the Yaris made going over the edge was a hoot.

Sort of a variant of RedBull Flugtag (for those wondering, a waters’-edge contest where absurd gliders are built, then shoved over the edge of a huge tower to see how far they can fly before hitting the water below – most of ’em drop like a rock!)
