Who cares… Both cars get smoked by American Iron on their own turf. Yawn….
Curious choice of words. You do realize that both the ZR1 and ACR have aluminum engines right?
The ZR1 also has an aluminum space frame, carbon fiber hood, roof and if I recall correct, front fenders, with fiberglass everything else. The only “iron” in a ZR1 is the brake rotors. Scratch that, they are carbon ceramic.
Such a non-ferrous world we live in…
Something to chew on:
The first time set by the GT-R with a factory driver was (I don’t recall the exact number, but, it was in the vicinity of) 7:29. First independent test by a German magazine- 7:49. This here lap- 7:55.
The ZR1’s only Nordshleife time so far is by a factory driver.

the vette and viper that beat the skyline had 2 and 4 cylinders over the skyline respectively. they also were around 25k over it in suggested retail price of the skyline.
allow nissan 2 more cylinders and allow nissan to add 25k to the base price and i’m sure they could destroy the vette and viper.

7:55… in 7-degree Celsius weather, on a wet track, in November, on the “slower” tires, with a non-racing (but very good) driver, Chris Harris. It’s actually impressive that both these cars got the times they did in such inclement conditions.
While Porsche claimed 7:54 was the best they could get out of the GT-R, ostensibly in conditions that allowed the slower turbo to get mid 7:30s… with a professional. Who was it was driving for Porsche, again? A professional valet?
