  Yes it sounds familiar…I not 30 minutes ago mentioned this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludlow_massacre You tell me what the difference is (Bertel) between the extreme “Left” and extreme “Right”? Hint, the use of lethal force is the same.

  I am still trying to figure out why the Dem’s want to copy the Soviet economic system. They want the Soviet system’s perks: On the upper end — power, “prestige”, dachas in the countryside (confiscated from mortgaged owners in default), and loads of money. On the lower end — a government that “takes care” of you from cradle to grave. Sound familiar? It is. And it didn’t work then. Human beings tend to repeat the same mistakes over and over until they either finally learn up and stop doing it, or eventually die off because of it.

  Protecting domestic production by import taxes is the exact equivalent to increasing taxes… I hope all of the world’s politicians will some day understand that…

  I am still trying to figure out why the Dem’s want to copy the Soviet economic system. Still bitter about your team losing, huh? On the lower end — a government that “takes care” of you from cradle to grave. Sound familiar? It is. And it didn’t work then. As opposed to one that just lets you die if you don’t have money? Have you seen sub-Saharan Africa recently? Because that’s the “ultimate flower” of capitalism. Citing extreme examples just makes one look partisan. The Democrats aren’t socialists; not even close. Germany’s CDU and Canada’s Conservatives are more left-wing than the Democrats could ever hope to be; that leaves a whole range of options before you hit real Marxism. Of course, that doesn’t stop American Republicans from whimpering about Marxist/Leninists hiding under thier bed whenever certain topics crop up, much like members of Greenpeace scream “Nazi” when faced with some fuzz-faced campus police.

On the article> The parallels are STRANGELY similar, however in AMERICA it is much better to let the “sheep” (normal peeps) have their little chunk of bailout money while giving 20x-50x that to other privileged people under the table. I’m against all bailouts. What happened to business dying or living on it’s merits?

  I strongly suspect 99.3% of American UAW members believe U.S. cops should behave the same way. After all, we consumers only exist to keep them in business.

  @Robstar. Confirmed. I can’t help myself. The Soviet phrasing seemed too good to pass up (and had applicable meaning for this article to boot)! I also like Chuck Norris phrases too. Not sure I can think of one that would apply here though?
