I liked the fence clip and the jumping dog clip. Too funny!
To 63CorvairSpyder: I could do without Howie Long mocking anything that’s not GM. It’s not that I’m offended or anything; I just see him and his condescending tone and I think that whatever topic, feature, towing limit, or capacity he’s pushing doesn’t matter at all, because although the Chevvy’s engine may last, you can forget the other parts. The GM will spend more time on the hoist, and the owner will spend less time with his family or at his job.
It’s true in my experience anyhow!
It makes me want to buy whichever Toyota he’s dissing. How’s THAT for reverse psychology? Hmmmm, could it be that he’s secretly working for Toyota?
One exception is the commercial with the little girl. She outdoes Howie a million to one, but heh…she’s not enough for me to consider a GM…
“real truck people” That’s good, you should have capitalized it! “Real Truck People” has more presence and authority. But both reveal elitism. And blind elitism will be the death of the company.
In one form or another, it was the elitist attitude at various dealers and service departments that “drove” me away from GM. I’m now actually viscerally repulsed by GM dealerships, and won’t set foot in one.
The fact is, people choose what they want to drive. Unless one subscribes to the philosophy that most people are stupid and unable to make good decisions for themselves, it seems that overall, they’ve made their choices quite competently. GM is in dire trouble, Toyota is not.
Implied (or outright) claims like “real truck people drive “X” brand” don’t help GM fix its life-or-death problems.
GM is in deep trouble, and is in serious danger of going away. Management won’t smell the coffee, yet leadership (whether bad or good) always descends from the top.
After all these years, and after all that money, nothing has changed.
They probably don’t bring them in here (the USA) for the same reason the Chrysler/Fiat deal is vapour: too expensive to manufacture them to US crash and pollution standards and American’s don’t get diesel, yet.
Pretty funny. But I like the Chevy P/U commercial with Howie Long in the Chevy P/U mocking the guy in the Toyota P/U for using his “Man” step.
In other words…
When the only tool you have is a Hilux, every problem looks like a bugger.

Ah yes… an Aussie classic from the 90’s. They did a few of these…
Here is my other favorite “Bugger” ad from Toyota. The Bluie is great!
Hey zoom zoom.Howie Long is just pointing out that real truck people, that need to drive real trucks don’t buy Toyotas.
The Tundra sales vs, say F150s or Siverados hows them wannabe trucks working out?
On another note: How nice to watch the motorcade
today. Not an import to be seen.
God Bless America
Great commercial! I sure wish that we had more diesel options here in the US…

Brilliant!
Now that’s funny!!!
@Mikey: how wonderful once again to see power change hands peacefully.
please keep the hilarious videos coming!!! They make my day!
I find the Hilux to be closer to a real pickup truck of my youth than the overblown barges of today
The bugger of it all is that Toyota won’t bring them into N.A. anymore.
