The joy that brings to me watching that, and a wagon. Does not take much talent to achieve what it was he is doing but it sure is fun! I wonder about some of these Darwin nominees that lack a driveshaft safety hoop, blowproof bellhousing/scattershield, roll cage, proper seat and seat harnesses. No matter, it happens all the time.
Looking forward to summer here in the frigid north!
It’s a 1969 AMC Ambassador. Where did you get the info that it was a 440 engine? Assuming stock bore & stroke, that would be a Chrysler wedge engine. The top (stock) displacement in a 1969 Ambassador was AMC’s own “mid-small block” V8, with 390 cubic inches. There was a somewhat later version with a bigger bore and longer stroke, with 401 cubic inches starting in 1971.
I know, I’m just picking nits…
Did anyone else catch that the car is Right Hand Drive? New Zealand or Australia, mate? (AMC’s were assembled overseas with RHD, and even sold in the UK, too).
AMC V8’s were quite powerful, even without benefit of massive supercharger. Cubic Inches of Displacement don’t care about the badge on the grill, so to speak.
snafu:
I wonder about some of these Darwin nominees that lack a driveshaft safety hoop, blowproof bellhousing/scattershield, roll cage, proper seat and seat harnesses.. Are you kidding? At least the kids (kids=idiots) in the car have sheet metal running interference for them. The real Darwin award contenders are all the kids on either side of the strip…if the car gets out of control, there’d be body parts everywhere.
BTW, you can aftermarket AMC-pattern blocks suitable for vast amounts of performance upgrading, such as the 2×4 tunnel rammed blown examples above. I’d like it more in a Rebel, but what the hell.
Sweet!
I certainly see that being a wedge. There’s not much stock in that puppy beyond the sheet metal. It sounded a lot better than the original small block.
Aussie’s are idiots. I’ve been watching/waiting for this to end terribly for years, but he never lets it out of first gear… It was no-show at a track meet I went to a few years ago, not sure why. Bandag was there however.
Burnouts are only impressive if you can see the over-run flame-out through the tyre smoke.

Kids are still doing that eh?Its restores my faith in our youth.Good to know that not all the kids worship Honda Civics with a fart can installed.
I just watched it again, and again . . .
These are adult kids unless you are like 90, LOL, then that makes sense.
Yawn. Is that video from Pimp My Ride or Chicks With Guns?
PeteMoran :
Pimp my chick’s guns and ride.
Positively Nashty!! Love it!!!

Now there is a sport wagon!

Did Pelosi approve?
That’s just damn fun.

CUV-what?
I thought I heard “You’re off the road”, as the car started to creep over the edge of the tarmac … could have been either…
Sweet!

Sounds like a Aussie accent to me. Based on the voices, the mountains, and the plants, I’d guess SE Queensland.
