Nothing as far as I can see. It’s kinda nice but as usual with Kiundai, it’s derivative. At least it’s not as bland as the Genesis. It kinda looks like a cross between an ES and the new Buick, but I could think of worse things to look like. If what other reports I’ve read are true, it’ll have nice hardware underneath too. If it’s priced like the Genesis, then they might sell a few.
Wikipedia would not describe this as “the story of a psychiatrist who attempts to treat a young man who has a pathological religious/sexual fascination with horses.”
But it might be the product of a Genesis who has a religious/sexual fascination with Germans.
Here is a picture of this car in camo , with an Azera in middle, and 7 series in front. The Hyundai is the same size!

The fender flares make it look like a really big Hyundai Elantra. Other than that, not much I guess! You have to keep the bar lower for Hyundai until their brand gets a voice of their own.
Hmphh. Too Buick-like. Not in a good way. Not Lucernesque (not bad), but Lacrossian (doubleplusungood). Especially the C-pillar + rear-fender-flare.
Headlamp design pirated from the Lexus LS460.
Overall: over-wrought.
It’s not the picture, it’s the product overlap. I don’t think having an Equus, Genesis, and Azera is such a good idea for such low volume cars. There’s already a price overlap between the latter two, I can’t see how the Equus won’t cannibalize sales of the Genesis.
Mind you, if it means a softer and more comfortable suspension than what the Genesis offers, I’m all for it.
Buick called. They want there fender creases back and mislocated piece of chrome strip from the bottom of the doors. Todays car styling is so unoriginal.
Without tires, the car has horrible acceleration and handling. It only pulled .23g on the skidpad and they wrecked the expensive wheels in the process.
I just figured out where the tires went. It ate them.
Those flaming curves across the flanks are going to cause laughter every time someone opens the a door and sees the edge of it in isolation. That being said, I’ll hop in through the window.
(and by the way, people clicking through on a link to a Hyundai spy shot? I think I hear the hoofbeats of four mounted horses…)
What’s wrong? Other than the proportions in the sketch?
Hm, maybe I’d say what’s wrong here is the fact that it’s not destined to come to the US any time soon.
It has a hood ornament. Oh, and that vertical metal strip in the grill makes it look like it should have a Pontiac symbol on it.
Other than that, not a damn thing!

The side mirrors are the size of quails’ eggs. The tires have no rubber to speak of.
All in all, it looks like a car capable of going 180 MPH and being stopped by a 1″ curb.
Oh yes, and the grill looks like a f-ing Sebring.
I’m feeling claustrophobic just thinking about sitting in something with so little glass.
IMO this is what the Genesis should have been.
It looks similar to the Buick concept that came out of China recently. Was it the Invicta concept??
I don’t find anything wrong. Hyundai is making a LS430 fighter?
Looks nice.
Yawn, another 4-door coupe in the CLS tradition that will probably sell for more than the sedan upon which it is based.
Daniel Radcliffe isn’t standing around half-nakid in it?
Alan Strang’s new ride.
Drawings promise better styling than the silhouette previewed here. In that picture it’s clearer that the next Horse is not a CLS look-alike.
As with all new Hyundais it is a fusion of two successful german cars?
Shouldn’t there be a rapper standing beside it?
It has no tires.
It looks like a Bangle-ized 2008+ Honda Accord Coupe (with ‘dubs’ and extra doors).
Is there really a market for two Hyundai luxury sedans?
Judging from the name, this would be their sport-luxury entry. Or something.

I couldn’t make up my mind if it was a Caddy grill or a Pontiac. I settled on it being the next Grand Am/Prix…then I read the caption.
Don’t you wish cars actually looked as cool as their renderings?

Shouldn’t the next model be the Exodus?
Equus is to S-class as Genesis is to E-class
Where’s the cheesecake?
