Lotus has been developing the Kia Soul’s suspension for UK road conditions since 2008, lending even more appeal to Kia’s new hot box. “The result of our partnership with Lotus is a more composed ride which we think is much more suitable to what our roads can throw at Soul, and additionally, it is also a more exciting car to drive,” Paul Philpott of Kia UK tells Carscoop. This is the first time Kia has tuned a car specifically for the UK market. It is, however, not the first time the US market been left out in the cold while others get the Lotus-fettled hotness. Perhaps our new president could do something about this?

Lotus has been involved in countless commuter boxes, doesn’t mean anything.
The Opel Corsa was worked on by Lotus. But it was just to cure heavy front steering, not to make it faster or anything.
If it makes the commuter boxes more enjoyable to drive than they may otherwise be then it does mean something. It may not be earth shattering, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a wasted effort.
Dear Kia, bring the Lotus suspension to the US and I will buy one.
Obama included atheists in his inaugural speech, so no doubt his inclusiveness will extend to UK-spec Korean cars.

Excuse me, but WTF?
You got the cars with Lotus Tuned suspensions long ago:
Isuzu I-Mark
Isuzu Impulse 1st and 2nd generation
Among others, I bet for sure.
But, in the Isuzu cars case, you didn’t buy them so…
PS: I love the 3 tiny Lotus badges in my car and how it that tuning makes it hande =)
er, ‘since 2008’, so three weeks then?
Unclench your springs and we will extend our warranty.
Kia has also used Lotus in the past to include cars brought to the US. The original KIA Sportage had a Lotus suspension.
