prototype: noun – the first example of something, such as a machine or other industrial product, from which all later forms are developed: (dictionary.cambridge.org)
A (made out of styrofoam) hybrid with a turbocharged two cylinder engine, 268 hp electric motor and rwd is not a very good prototype for a conventional fwd V6 sedan (built by Nissan).
The problem is that they bothered to stick something under the hood at all. They would have been better off to bolt the (empty) engine bay shut and claim it had a magical 300 mpg super motor. I’m looking at you, Aptera.
Agreed. And I bet there’s nothing whatsoever under the hood of the new Converj. Or if there is, it ain’t no hybrid nothing. Oh wait, it can’t be. Voltomatic right?
Ok, these are starting to bother me. Why? Because we never get to find out what the person who posted it thinks is wrong with the picture. Everyone guesses and no one finds out.
Damn Skippy, where’s the sport in that, I think the problem is it’s not a 12 cylinder ferrari, or a Porsche flat-six, or a VW TDI, or a….oh hell, here comes Nurse Cratchet, never mind…
I think Ralph has a point though, I think the original poster should add what he originally thought after 20 posts or something. I personally see a lot of extra space, which if it is an electric would need to be filled with batteries if you actually wanted it to go anywhere.
From what I can see it is missing an alternator, power steering pump, water pump, accessory belt, pulleys, or anything else on the front of the engine.
It also looks like that the heater and a/c hoses are going in on the divers side of the car which is not typical from what I have worked with in the past. I also don’t see any ignition system (diesel)?
Can anyone tell if that is a battery box on the left side? It is very small if it is, then again so is the (turbo?) tubing.
the engine appears to be arranged transversely suggesting that it is front wheel drive, while this concept is supposed to be based off the the LX platform which would suggest that it should be placed longitudinally.
Personally, I like a steering wheel with my car. Some folks find it optional. I see them driving around with both hands busy grooming, drinking or mucking with a cell phone.
I think Fritz deserves the bonus points on this one. There’s a convenient block-off plug just to the inboard side of the brake booster. where the steering column should be. I know electric assist steering is just a hair away from “electric steering” but who really things NHTSA will ever approve full steer-by-wire?
Assuming it’s a hybrid, why does it have a battery under the hood at all? I’d expect there to be a large battery pack in the back or underneath, so why is there a standard battery in the picture?
That it’s probably some kind of hybrid powertrain…
There is just a gas engine under the hood of what is supposed to be an electric car?
They’ll never be able to fit the engine in there with that turbo, best go for a top mount.
Hey look: A hamster wheel!
If that’s an ENVI powertrain, it looks surprisngly legitimate for vapourware.

It’s not nice to lie to Congress Chrysler.
That there’s no big battery under the hood of this supposed hybrid? Of course, it could be in the trunk.
Just what I always wanted! A rear wheel drive, Chrysler 2CV powered thingimybobber hybrid.
Wonder if the warrantee would last as long as the company is likely to?
Oh what am I saying? They’ll never get it into production.
It may be real to look at, but it’s still vaporware in the sense that it has less of a chance of being built than the Tucker did.
PS – does it have HEMI heads on that twin? Believe it or not, the real Citroen 2CV DID.
The problem is that they bothered to stick something under the hood at all. They would have been better off to bolt the (empty) engine bay shut and claim it had a magical 300 mpg super motor. I’m looking at you, Aptera.
I bet it’s a fake hybrid powertrain. Just a little something to grease the PR wheels.

Oh Jeez, everything.
Lighting, composition, sharpness, tonal range,…
Wha’d you use, your phone?
There’s no name on anything. Usually with bleeding edge parts, the makers want to take credit for their work.
There appears to be an internal combustion engine on the bottom. The front appears to be a small but conventional radiator.
What’s wrong?
I’m gonna say that it’s not a turbine.
What do I win?
I just noticed….why’s there a bin liner at the back of the engine bay?
Ok, these are starting to bother me. Why? Because we never get to find out what the person who posted it thinks is wrong with the picture. Everyone guesses and no one finds out.

Ralph SS:
This isn’t “Where’s Waldo.” There isn’t some objective error to find.
They just post random, but generally newsworthy automotive pictures, and ask what’s wrong with them.
There could be nothing wrong, although I think that’s hard to argue in this particular case.
It’s kind of like “[w]hats the best car.”
I see an ENVI logo. Aha – it’s the 200c power train.
It’s a Chrysler!
I think Ralph has a point though, I think the original poster should add what he originally thought after 20 posts or something. I personally see a lot of extra space, which if it is an electric would need to be filled with batteries if you actually wanted it to go anywhere.
The oscillation overthruster is missing. It’s clearly meant to install right in front of the fuel distributor.
The flux capacitor is missing
Hey, who stuffed that Hyabusa engine in a Miata?

no carburetor

Transversely mounted rotary!
Are there any front wheel drive rotary powered cars?

You found it! Evil PURE AND SIMPLE by way of the Eighth Dimension!
If it’s a Chrysler product it probably has this too:
It’s not nice to lie to Congress Chrysler.
but every body does it including congress. Hmmm
@RabidChild: Mazda Premacy (5) Hydrogen RE Hybrid
It’s in the front of the car.
As every Porschephile knows – either put it in the back or in the back seat!

The first rotary powered car to be built in large numbers (its also the ancestor of most moden Audis and Volkswagens)….the NSU RO80 was a fwd.

Somebody stole the engine from my lawn mower and put it in a car?
