yeaaah… I’ll play your game Leno if you give everyone that actually modulates in a Cobra or a reasonable facsimile (or at least one that Carrol is willing to pursue legal action against)!
To me, the rego “Fall” means autumn and refers to people in the last years of their life. This is when old farts Jay’s age buy sporty convertibles to compensate for other goals they will never achieve.
I think I’d have a hard time not smirking now and then if I owned and drove a real 427.

When they showed the rear license plate, my first take was that it said “FAIL”.
I saw the ad, but couldn’t figure out what they were selling. I thought they were selling Jay Leno himself.
And what was the meaning of the number 10?

I think it’s because his new show is on at ten.
Beautiful ad. Just Leno driving a fantastic car on a great road.
No explosions, no animals, no ad copy seemingly written by nineteen year olds.
Who wouldn’t want to be in that car, on that road?
I’d think that a guy who owns aircraft hangers full of vintage cars would be able to come up with something a little more ambitious.
IT’s not a real Cobra, believe it or not. It’s better. It’s a true-to-the-original reproduction with a 427 SOHC motor.
This ad made perfect sense. If you are a car geek, the car and location were instant. If not, it’s still a cool car on the beach.
Meanwhile, Jay is smirking because part of that car just became a write-off on taxes ! I’d smirk too !
Is it just me or does Leno look a lot like this guy:

Yes, hence the “9 Central” that appears on the rear of the car. His show’s moving up to 10 pm.
Even my wife like this spot. Jay Leno, a car guy, has a new time slot for his late night show. It got the message across.
I too had no idea what they were selling. Was it a new “Tonight Show,” or a cheesy knockoff of that cheesy “Magnum PI”?
10 = at 10 pm Jay Leno this Fall on NBC
