Auto Motor und Sport‘s latest images of the 2011 Mercedes SLK show it looking Crossfire bad. Sure, that’s better than leaf blower supercharger bad, but it’s still really bad.

This could make a perfectly reasonable, if exceptionally tacky, front-end for a modern Dodge.
This is just my opinion, but I think that is just how they intentionally dressed up the test mule.
That’s what I think, too. They just stuck camo on the hood. That explains what the headlights look so inset.
And you thought the Crossfires looks were the fault of Chrysler. Tsk, tsk.
Modern day re-enactment of the VW Kübelwagen?
I love how every Benze spied lately has a Dodge costume on.
And I like the way the Crossfire looks.
It’s obviously a test mule, but I think somebody’s making fun of Chrysler too. It’s got the Dodge grill and some pretty serious hood strakes.
It doesn’t look bad. It doesn’t look anything. Criticizing this is like saying you don’t like the rendering on some German car magazine’s cover.
Seth: they probably figured it was a good way to make the car look so boring no one would even look twice at it. Apparently that failed, I blame the “look at me” super white LED fog lights.
Hey, Mercedes. Dodge just called. They said something about copyright infringement.
I thought it was some kind of Dodge until I saw the the summary.
Surly this must be the version for Australia, you know that sort of
Tin-Shack look !
Mercedes: The National Air and Space Museum called. They want you to return the sheetmetal you took from their Ju 52.
Oh boy! Who has yearned for a car with a piece of corrugated steel roofing for a hood (bonnet for you brits). It will no doubt become the fashion statement of the next decade.
That’s mad funny, they’re making fun of their former business partner.
The more I look at it, it looks more like the bastard child of a late ’90s Pontiac (all that plastic cladding) and the current Dodge Charger.
I’ve always thought the Crossfire was much better looking than both the car that donated its running gear and the subsequent generation SLK.
Looks like the tailgate of the P/U that was driving in front of the car came off and impaled itself on the hood of the test mule.
It would appear George Foreman is now hawking a car sized version of his lean mean grilling machine.
This could actually be the undisguised Pelosi 5000 GTS Turbo!
AMG SLK 63: Shantytown edition?
@Luther
“This could actually be the undisguised Pelosi 5000 GTS Turbo!”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
And Ted Kennedy is driving, natch!
Dodge Pelosi 5000 GTS Turbo … by Mercedes.
If people are dumb enough to believe that this in any way represents the design of the production vehicle….

We on this website aren’t dumb. We are just SCARED that some auto exec could actually green light this for production. Does the Aztek ring a bell?
Sometimes one has to cope with fear by using humor.
I hope to god almighty himself you are just looking for a laugh…or you are a glutton for punishment.
after M-B recent styling efforts, i have no doubt the new SLK will be an unattractive car
Merc? I thought it was a Pontiac…
