I am really proud of this one. The cartoonist, Nate Beeler, went to school with my children, and his family belongs to our synagogue. Nate has been a talented cartoonist since he was a kid, and his work has gotten better and better. Follow the link and check out his ‘toons.

How does this view of “Big Government” square with the economic success China is in the middle of?
China’s government is far more involved in their economy than the US’ is.
John Horner- it doesn`t matter how much the government is involved, but in what way they are running that control. How smart they are and how much they protect and support manufacturing and creating of jobs.It matters if the government is running the country, or running themselves.Also, punishment always works. You can be shocked about those hundreds of people every year killed in stadiums, but it helps millions of people to keep jobs. The role of the government in any country actually should be TO GOVERN THE NATURAL GREED AND LAZINESS OF THE POPULATION AND NOT ALLOW ANY PART OF SOCIETY TO ABUSE POWER IN ORDER TO BENEFIT FROM THOSE THAT DON`T HAVE CHOICE NOT TO OBEY.Everyone of us has those devilous instincts of easy life, the governmet has to keep the reigns of that. Then any country can prosper.
I love the irony of having Big Gov’t telling anyone they have to evolve.

How many entry level chinese workers would rather move here? If your answer is all of them, you win the prize. They are having economic success due to a really, really, low bar. It’s easier to double your economy when you start at a low number to begin with.

It’s not ironic, it’s expected.
The irony of this, of course, is the use of the word “evolve” in the USA.
No doubt the cartoon’s publishing offices will be burnt down in the morning.
Since “Big Gov’t” is not in fact failing and is instead pulling that huge Detroit dinosaur out of a tar pit (that Detroitsaur fell into several decades ago and hasn’t ever tried to get out), I’m going to go ahead and say that this cartoon is retarded.
