Wow, that’s pretty ballsy. Not even Mitsu has the testicular fortitude make a CUV based on the Evo…Oh wait, I think I did see Mitsu make a CUV concept based on the new Lancer, but it looked better.
In all seriousness, however, this is fairly hideous. It looks like a whale shark with braces.
It’s nice to see A-M evolve its design language, at least. All the current models, as beautiful as they are, seem to be “which size do you want” from the Vantage to the Rapide.
Then again, “evolve” and “improve” are not synonymous.
Who ever talked about Ford keeping Aston down? It was one of Fords only success stories of the past couple of decades. Ford bought Aston when it was completely in the crapper. It turned it profitable with in many people opinions, the best looking cars on the road.
What’s surprising is that Aston Martin is putting the Lagonda name on this CUV type vehicle rather than the up-coming Aston Martin Rapide (4-door, 4-seat limousine).
FYI, it’s worth seing the “Update” on the Autoblog site which is slightly less critical:
okay, so it isn’t the new Chrysler 300. it would have been the first time in my 28 years i’ve desired a chrysler product in my driveway (parking garage actually)
To second what Alex said: If the Lagonda had to be a cutting edge spaceship (at least in theory) back in the Star Wars era, I guess the name had to come back as an ass-tastic CUV this time around. It only makes sense.
Dare I use these two brands in the same sentence but, this Aston gives me an old Hyundai Concept car five from 5-10 years ago after it’s seen an orthodontist
You’ll not find a greater fan of Aston Martin styling than me… until now. I am speechless. I utterly lack the linguistic skill to express my horror at seeing this hideous abomination. I might weep.
Take it, drop it far out at sea, let it serve a useful purpose as a fish habitat.
I’m English , and I am appalled , this is just so ugly, Aston Martin
deserves to die !
That’s not bad ….for a Chrysler Concept.
What?!?!? That’s a Lagonda?!?! Huh? You’re shittin’ me…No? You’re Not?
I thought it was a Chrysler also.
It’s nice to see that Aston Martin can now show what they are really about without having Ford keep them down.
And people picked on Ford for what they “did” to A-M.

perhaps this isn’t its best angle
Couldn’t they at least have made this a shooting brake?
Isn’t that style of journalism called novocain?
Somewhere in deepest, darkest Gaydon, Warwickshire…..
Head designer: OK, chaps! Aston Martin Lagonda, what are we going to do about it?
Designer 1: How about about we take the front end of a Chrysler 300?
Designer 2: And here’s the kicker…..we use the back end of a BMW 1 series?
Head Designer: Sounds good to me! Right, who’s for lunch…..?
Cripes! Looks like a Chrysler 300 on some serious steroids!

Yikes.
Why would you axe the team that penned the Rapide and replace them with the Team Sebring?

The best looking Aston at Geneva is the Infiniti Essence.
okay, so it isn’t the new Chrysler 300. it would have been the first time in my 28 years i’ve desired a chrysler product in my driveway (parking garage actually)
The last Lagonda was bizarre and unreliable so this would have to be an improvement on that(if only barely)
I thought it might be the new Chrysler 300 as well. At least that would make sense.
The rear view looks even worse…
Lagonda sticks to tradition. We’ve seen its cars from its not so distant past. Dead ugly. So in a way, yes Lagonda is being traditional.
P.S. A V12 SUV is a very appropriate car these days.

If the dash isn’t one big computer (that breaks every three seconds) then its not a real Lagonda.
“Lagonda” obviously means “metallic whale” in some rare dialect spoken only in the most remote shires of old England.
If I were oil royalty I’d dump the company that could show this in puplic too!

No wonders the company is for sale (again).
My eyes!
Aston Martin wants to die!
Ugly, with a capitol UG.
Wow – I hope that’s a rumble seat in the back. I think the name was a typo though – it’s supposed to be Lagonorrhea.
Thank you, I’ll be here all week.
How will they incorporate this POS into the next Bond movie?
