Lambo’s abortion-for-four is “on ice,” reports Autocar. Because of “me-too” positioning and questionable styling? No, apparently “the timing and market conditions are just not right for an additional model line,” says Lambo’s R&D boss, Maurizio Reggiani. That’s it? What about a nice, reassuring “Lamborghini refuses to build bland, uninspired vehicles in a faddish niche just because several competitors are” retort? Or, perhaps, “we encourage the folks behind the new Lagonda to join us in supporting death with dignity for similarly useless concepts”? No? Fine. Blame the economy. But file this one under “creative destruction.”

Wow, harsh words about the Estoque! I think it looks nice, especially when compared to the Panamera. I guess that up against that fat assed abomination though, an AMC Pacer is reasonably attractive.
This looks disturbingly like the New Camaro.
See, I *liked* this car. I also liked the 4-door Aston, though not as much. The Panamera was just a disgrace.
Smart Move.

@Edward: why not? Maybe because Lambo is owned by VW and therefore Porsche, and insulting the Panamera may not be smart for a PR person.

For my money, this is the best looking of the Panamera, Rapide, and even (gasp!) Quattroporte crowd. To call it an abortion is, in my view, more than somewhat wrong…
Hey, speaking of the Estoque, there’s been a paucity of Lieberman’s work as of late.
Good call! Adds huge points of integrity to Lamborghini.
I really liked this car. But instead, Lamborghini cites there being no market for the Estoque as a reason not to produce it, when they should have asked themselves that before they sunk money into the prototype.
