Steal the cars and trick someone into moving them for you for free? Ballz! Hope that trucker can get some money out of someone.

Passing fraudulent cashiers checks is a really big deal and involves lots of prison time. These three are going to need good lawyers. By the time they get out people will be getting around on George Jetson people movers

Passing fraudulent cashiers checks is a really big deal and involves lots of prison time.

Assuming the feds are willing to prosecute.

Although, Nebraska may have a law with teeth. In NY state’s pay to play system, career criminals often don’t fear local justice.

But they’re quite scared by the feds. Long sentences, no parole, incarceration in a red state with unfriendly federal courts…

This case has seen a lot of media time. There will be an effort to prevent similar acts in the future. I think you will see federal indictments for interstate transport of the cars, bank fraud, larceny, and anything else they can think of.
The transporter should pull up to the lot and grab a Camry or two as collateral until he gets paid.

There’s 2 stories here and nobody’s focused on the second… what’s with the cars? Are they stolen from the dealership? The bank or floorplan lender? Are these used cars?
    What gives?

@ Dimwit: “[Are the cars stolen from t]he bank or floorplan lender?”

Uhuh. I remember reading a story earlier today (3/15) stating that Toyota Financial called the cops. The dealer owner, controller, and general manager were involved in the scam.

    More: “http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/missing_cars”.

Despite the missing cars, the dealer continues to operate. (You’d think it would have collapsed given the positions of the people involved.)

golden2husky, I’m with you. My Newfoundland sometimes is “naughty” in a funny way and steals my sox. Occasionally slippers.

But it’s more of a ploy for her to get me to play with her than real theft.

Other than that, she’s a nicer (dog) person than probably 90% of the (human) persons I’ve ever met.

Before you berate me – what is Webster’s definition of “PERSONality”?

“The totality of distinctive traits of an individual.”

    Their definition of “individual”?

“A single person, organism or thing”.
