Umm, this is old news. You see it in their newspaper ads all the time, but you don’t see many of the “new look” BPG dealer showrooms. BPG showrooms are usually of a generic 1970s/1980s style that makes your typical Kia or Mitsubishi showroom look good.
Uh, should this stir anything inside me? Big f-ing deal. It’s the same logos the brands have had for years, just next to each other. If ever there were an item that was non-news.
They should have stacked them vertically instead of horizontally. The problem is that the Pontiac and Buick graphics are different sizes so the final aggregation still looks a bit unbalanced and visually weighted to the left.
A vertical stack ends up being symmetrical left to right and keeps each logo right in the center of the visual field. Vertically the three work together well, also, as the round Buick logo would almost nest in the notch in the Pontiac arrowhead, with that arrowhead pointing and drawing the eye to the GMC logo.
GM has some of the best designers in the world and they came up with this? It couldn’t have come out of the design studios. It looks awkward and slapped together.
looks like a turntable cartridge. As much as I like listening to vinyl LPs, we all know turntable cartridges are not selling by the millions every year.
joining the three together is bad business. for the brands to have equity they must stand alone. another example of how the inept marketing at GM is destroying the company. sad really.
Just back from Japan, where I noticed that GM is selling Suzuki’s as Chevy’s…. with the Bowtie on the grill but using all the logos on the trunk in the same manner as BPGM above.
Suzuki ‘S’; GM ‘Bowtie’; GM mark of doom.
All this multi-badging reeks of desperation to me.
It’s sort of like they’re hoping that you won’t hate at least one of the three.

Hmm, that top band almost looks like the bottom of the GM logo trying to push the three brands six feet under. ;-)

It’s temporary.

Looks like a coffin lid.
Why not a little tombstone logo? It would be simpler and just as accurate…
At least they`ll have a nice logo for all of the paperwork in bankruptcy court.
“At least they`ll have a nice logo for all of the paperwork in bankruptcy court.”
Considering that they will be looking at those papers for quite a while, it means a lot!
Gosh, Suzie, how did you think of that?
Cadillac and Chevrolet. The rest can die. (I still find it hard to believe that they killed Olds and kept Buick and Pontiac around.)
The chrome arch over the logos reminds me of the roof of a HUMMER dealership.
Gmc doesn`t have a single its own model. Who talked about GM having too many models?
The bridge to nowhere. Thanks, but no thanks.
Ugh, I can’t believe I’m quoting Palin :(.
