Croft is a softball thrower, but it is true, there is a lot on the presidental china, and Obama is correct, that there are a lot of difficult decisions to make… although, some are easy, like letting a sham automaker die, so that others may live…

Obama’s laughter is as uncomfortable as an ill timed John McCain smile.

This is yet another sign that Obama is so in over his head it’s actually not funny.

Now that I think about it, thousands of people losing their jobs is just hilarious!

I’m funny how, I mean funny like I’m a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I’m here to fucing’ amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny?

Watch the clip again, he is NOT laughing at Detroit. He is laughing at himself and the fact that he is going to bailout Detroit REGARDLESS of the political fact that about 80% of America is telling him not to.

He is laughing because it it political INSANITY to provide the bailouts… but he is going to do it anyway… And that is kinda funny.

Wall Street heard this loud and clear and the GM share price was UP SHARPLY at the open.

Before you stick a knife in Obama you might what to check the fact that he is about to save your job, even though no-one wants him to. I think this is called biting the hand that feeds you.

It will take the passage of time to judge whether this man is (was) up to the job, and I am in no way trying to make a premature judgement (I didn’t vote for him, but I wish him well because he’s the only game in town for 4 years)…

Pls allow (this avocatioal historian) to share a historical perspective about the levity: Lincoln’s contemporaries were often put-off by his humour as brothers slaughtered brothers in the (as it was then called) War of the Rebellion … only later was it understood that this was his coping mechanism for dealing with crushing national (and personal) issues …

Well, RobertWalter, he may not last 4 years because once it comes out that he isn’t even eligible for dog-catcher, there will be a Constitutional Crisis like none ever seen in the Untied Status. I mean, United States. OK, in reality, Untied Status.

You see, the actual Constitution of the United States does specify quite clearly – without having ever been rescinded, at least legally – that a President must be a natural born citizen of the United States.

So, if BO “IS” an American, just why would he spend nigh on a million dollars to hide his birth certificate, stop any legal queries, and hide his college records (which would indicate his place of birth)?

If it smells like a skunk, looks like a skunk, waddles like a skunk and makes your eyes water – it probably was a skunk!

Once the truth comes out, Biden’s slip of the tongue during the run-up to election (one of many – but the statement about the upcoming “Biden Administration”) will become truth.

Eventually. The powers that be behind their B.O. puppet, however, won’t give up without a fight.

Hopefully I’m wrong. But I’ve suspected something very very fishy about this man for some while.

No, I’m not a Republican (nor a Democrat). I’m one of those folks who this administration thinks is a criminal for actually thinking for myself (I belong to the Constitution Party). I also am a military veteran whose swearing in, upon joining the military, included the statement of “defending the United States Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic”. And there was not a time-limit on that, either.

They also think you’re an enemy of the state if you don’t believe in abortion (“guilty”), supported Ron Paul (“guilty”), buy gold (“guilty”), believe in the 2nd Amendment (“guilty”) and just the first of these (being against abortion) sets 1/3 of the US population up as “potential terrorist enemies of the state”.

This Missouri “secret” letter to police which was made public and the main stream media ignored, with all of this information, was nothing more than a re-hash of a Clinton administration FBI paper. But then, this administration is a warmed over retread Clinton administration.

This nation is rapidly becoming a nation of a man, not law. (Dictatorship)

When Congress does what is called a Bill of Attender, then all this proves is that the Constitution is so much toilet paper for them to wipe themselves with; unfortunately for these congress people, all this means is that legally, they are now an illegitimate governing force. (A Bill of Attender can be described as a means of punishing a person or specfic group by means of writing a law – this means there need be no fair trial or means for a victim to defend himself. This is what the CONgress did with the AIG 90% tax the other day).

It would be like CONgress trying to punish Menno by passing a law saying that males with White 2008 Prius’s and Newfoundland dogs living in my zip code, are now subject to 110% tax for the rest of my natural life.

Menno, I believe the phony birth certificate they trotted out lists his race as african american. Sorry, but in 1961 it would have said negro. Guess they had alot of damage control going on and in the rush overlooked that small point.

    Guys,

There is no scandal regarding Obama’s birth certificate. Hawaiian officials have confirmed that the copy released was legitimate. Factcheck.org actually got to examine a hard copy and confirmed it was legit. A birth announcement in a local Honolulu newspaper has also been discovered.

@seabrjim: The birth certificate does not list Barack’s race. His mother’s is listed as “Caucasian and his father’s as “African”.

As has been mentioned above, it’s clear from the tape that Obama was laughing at his own predicament of taking unpopular actions. He was not joking about anyone else’s situation.

I’m always leery of conspiracy theories. Moreover, Hawaiian officials attested that the “certificate of live birth” [COLB] is genuine. But I can’t help but wonder, inasmuch as I’ve not seen the following points addressed anywhere —
    — Is the released COLB a computer-generated (when requested) form using data in a state data base, and not the original birth certificate form (sometimes called “long form”) that is filled out and personally signed by medical or hospital officials?
    — Is there any information on a “long form” that is not included on a COLB?
    — Is it physically possible to display that “long form” either in its original state or microfilm/microfiche?
    — Why has Obama allegedly spent a million dollars on lawyers on this fight?

OK, I see.. this must be TTAP, where the truth about politics is discussed…How did this get so far off track so soon?
What would any political figure be able to with the crapbasket of failing US (and foreign/US judging by the number of Hondas piling up at the local dealership) auto industry woes? Could’ve been McCain or Paul in office, it wouldn’t matter. The beast that is this industry must survive in some form or another. We simply should not be a country that does not own a viable auto industry, or steel industry, or foundry industry, or aeronautical industry, etc… Eventually it needs to become a matter of pride, doesn’t it?

  • avatar
    jkross22

    @Visualry,

So we should throw Gm and Chrysler billions of dollars for reasons of pride? Rewarding bad behavior never helped anyone, so no reason to start now.

    Pride??? C’mon!

If I were being hammered as hard as he is, I’d laugh too.

It’s a coping mechanism, and just goes to show that “BO” is not an inhuman robot – I totally understand this.
A “puppet” wouldn’t show such a reaction; ‘it’ would just spew “prepared statements”.

Ummm..guys? HELLO!! Back to the topic at hand…like, maybe…oh, I don’t know…CARS?? There are plenty of sites I can go read to bash the President. If I’m at TTAC, I’m obviously not interested in that discussion.

Say what you will about him (and it is clear some of you already have), I do not envy the man for the job he stepped into. Regardless of what he does (or doesn’t) do, it will forever be a no-win scenario for him.

Agreed that bailing GM and Chrysler will be derided in public, but privately most will be relieved that the industry (and all of it’s suppliers) will continue to exist.

When a video of the current president is posted, what do you think the topic of conversation will be?
