Is it the sport utility version of the now dead Pontiac G8 ST (Pontiac G8 ST SUV)? Or possibly an alternative for conversion vans? Or maybe this is what happens when a Holden Statesman and Dodge Sprinter bump uglies? Whichever you choose it’s not pretty, but it would turn some heads.
What in the world is that thing? are they for real? I’d rather have the Dodge Challenger it’s bad-

Well, the story on LeBlogAuto calls it an Opel. (But how can you be sure; it’s in French. You’d think after all this time the French would have switched to English. Stubborn, I guess.)
Holden Statesman = LWB version of Holden Commodore
Two levels of trim, Statesman and Caprice
Sold as the Chevrolet Caprice in the Middle East.
Sold as the Buick Park Avenue in China.
The panel van was a design study around 2003.
The crewman ute was around in two wheel and all wheel drive. A Crewman derived panel van was never considered here. The main drawback was that the panel van rear was almost a canopy on the cargo bed with no way to get to the cabin ala the “Sandman” series.
It has long been the custom in Europe and Australia (and perhaps elsewhere) to put huge picture windows along the sides of their hearses. One never sees draperies, either. It turns the rear of the hearse into a sort of display case for the casket, which typically sits up at window level.
Here in the U.S. we keep the casket mostly out of view.
Hey! All GM has to do is slap a Buick badge on the car and put in third row seating and they’ve got an old school station wagon: the new Buick Roadmaster.
Cool, i love a good looking Hearst, and to think that people die to take a ride in these things. Lucky drivers…imagine a CTS-V death by speed edition…that would be cool
So when’s the Buick edition coming out?
What did they start with?
Anyway, at least the back seat occupants won’t complain about insufficient headroom.
The bloated corpse of General Motors will never fit.
It’s a Pontiac G8 ST-H PDQ WWF DOA.
What’s wrong? No fender vents, DUH! :)
Sacre bleu!
If they can produce it within the next 6 months, it will be just in time for Saturn’s funeral.
I think I can see the dead brand’s Aura.
Can they re-engineer the ignition to fit between the seats?
As a racing style hearse, nothing wrong. As a family car, fugly is being kind.
Is a new Phantasm movie coming out?
do they normally put windows looking back into where the casket is?
The perfect Buick. Buick’s are already used by transport by the dead, might as well make it official.
A death wagon needs four-doors? Incase the guy in the back wakes up upon arrival at the church?
whoa! darth vader’s popemobile!

It’s a Holden Crewman ute with the panel van back.

In fact, if you look at the “number plate” it says “Statesman” Which was a Holden nameplate for their upmarket, long wheel base cars.
So with the news(as reported over here) that the G8 is the biggest Pontiac seller, perhaps the G8 ST and derivatives will make an appearance!

looks sinister, like the guy who put you in the box is moonlighting by driving you to the funeral.
although I’m sure this is its good angle.

But I’m pretty sure it’s the 2010 Chevy HHR.
GM is dying to sell you a vehicle.
There, I fixed it.
Holden Statesman?
Ghostbusters meets Men In Black?
Can’t decide if I want to post, “Wow…I’m dying to eventually ride in one of those!” or “I’d just die if I had to ride in one of those!”
Either way, you can see why I didn’t choose standup comedy as my profession. If I had, then I really would have died…

Different attitudes toward death, perhaps?

The Buick Insignia- By the dead for the dead.
Well, I guess the old saying doesn’t work in Europe:
“I’m gonna ride in the back of a Cadillac station wagon if it’s the last thing I do!”

Ghostbusters meets Men In Black?
Yeah, I was wondering why it’s missing the “ECTO 1” plate.
Or is it built by Buick in China, for the Chinese market? As for the French LeAutoBlog calling it an “Opel” oops
