    The amount of water required to get that much of a mirror reflection would require a couple of inches of submerged wheels. This must be Jesus’ Vette.

    Only one of them is returning from service.

    The other is waiting on parts to come in from the Federally operated repair distribution center.

    These look a bit similar to the Hertz rental versions, but my local Hertz office looks nothing like this place. This looks more like a scene from a video game.

    I thought the problem was someone took their car to Walmart for service.

    What’s wrong is that the “GT1 Championship Edition” is all bark and no bite – well, not beyond what you can get in a regular Vette. Here’s what you get boys and girls:

    Included in the GT1 Championship Edition package:

    * Graphics inspired by C6.R livery feature Corvette Racing “Jake” mascot, ALMS championships, and driver flags
    * ZR1-style body color full-width spoiler and chrome wheels
    * Custom leather-wrapped ebony interior with exclusive yellow accent stitching
    * GT1 embroidery on leather seats, instrument panel, and center console armrest
    * Special engine cover with carbon pattern and yellow Corvette lettering
    * Windshield banner (owner installed)

    GT1 Championship Edition GT1 Championship Edition to be produced in Corvette coupe, convertible and Z06 models in spring 2009:

    * Available in 45U Velocity Yellow (with black headlamps) or 41U Black
    * Specific VIN sequence 300001 series for 45U Velocity Yellow representing the No. 3 Corvette C6.R
    * Specific VIN sequence 400001 series for 41U Black representing the No. 4 Corvette C6.R
    * Production limited to 100 per each color and body style combination (600 total)
    * Coupe and convertible versions also include Z51 Performance Package and NPP Performance Exhaust
    * Optional MX0 6-speed paddle shift automatic on coupe and convertible
    * Optional C2L dual roof package on coupe
    * Optional U3U Navigation System on all models

    How about this edition instead (we are talking about race cars somewhere here after all):

    * Keep the black/yellow combo (not as bad as most of the hideous pace car editions I’ve seen)

    * Stripper inside – not a “dancer” damn you – I’m talking only putting in a steering wheel and some pedals and maybe a racing seat to sit on – ok, maybe I’m going overboard here, but reduce as much weight as possible

    * Racing seats with harness belts, no carpeting, cruise control, power this or that

    * Lightweight wheels

    * Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires

    * Track brake pads/fluid

    * T1 suspension stuff (or whatever they’re calling it these days at GM Performance Parts)

    * Stereo delete (it’s crap anyway)

    * Driver airbag delete

    * HVAC delete

    * Full race-ready roll cage

    * Fuel cell

    * Shave as much additional weight from everywhere possible

    * Fixed roof

    * Make sure Johnny O’Connell tests and approves it :-)

    * If any of the above-mentioned items are not legal or too risky to sell, then have it as a package of some sort to let you do it yourself (with Helm-level instructions)

    * Almost forgot, don’t charge an arm and a leg over a regular Vette. It might even cost less since you’re not putting a lot of stuff in from the factory. Figure it out. And make it a permanently-available option, not some limited-run horseshit that people will horde in a garage.

    One less of these rental Vettes in the fleet.

    Oh well, just forget it then…

    I think it’d be hard to find a Vette that hasn’t had a ‘dancer’ inside at one point or another. I know I’ve had a ‘dancer’ or two in mine!
