Interesting… be even more interesting if they were to release it…
And… yes… it does look extremely like an Aston with cladding on it. (the greenhouse and ass are a dead giveaway) Whether that means this disguise is unusually effective or someone with a collection of car bras thought this would be a good joke, I can’t say, yet.
That would be the Scion tC. Note the initials: “t” “C” as in “Toyota” “Celica”.
That said, I don’t much like the tC. It’s nice enough, sure, but the best Celica was the last one: small, light, quick, great cockpit, wonderful engine. People didn’t buy it because it was, truly, a more extreme version of the Integra Type-R, which was already a bit much.
The tC is a heavy, softer car that people wanted. And they got.

Please tell me you’re kidding. The Integra was way more car than any FWD Celica. It was among the best handling FWD cars ever. The chassis alone made the Integra far superior to the Celica, let alone the engine.
As for Lexus’ upcoming sports car, I think they have more important things to worry about right now, such as why they’re losing sales. Lexus has a problem with their core products, they should probably focus on that first. Is the IS-F even selling well? I’ve only seen one on the road in an area where Lexus once seemed to be nearly as common as Chevy. I just don’t see a sports car/GT/whatever like this thing being what Lexus needs right now.
carguy- too limited of an audience plus fun doesn’t have to mean 2 doors and a fastback coupe look. Try a Mazda3.
superbadd75- does Lexus need anything? Seems they’re doing well.
This reminds me of racing coverage ca. 1968 – show the leader, show the leader, show the leader, show the wreck, show the leader.
Except there were no wrecks. You get to see a car. It drives around a track. Yay.
All hail the Supra!
A new Supra with a 4.8L V10 and another 100Kgs lighter.
Just build it already.
(I have heard privately that the V10 is NOT for production however…..)
Toyota needs a Supra, but I am going to guess Lexus will try to keep this one for their brand. Toyota needs a new Celica at the very least.
ToyAston?
Hey, I thought Toyota pulled the plug on this car? I must be thinking of some other Lexus, and I know for a fact it was some kind of Lexus.

Coincidence, at best, as Volvo owns the “XC” combo platter that Scion would have otherwise employed.
The LF-A. The greatest Toyota…that will never be built.

Scion tC = Scion touring coupe.
Please, sir, may I have another?
What the world needs is affordable fun not another $150K+ super car. How about a RWD Celica?
Looks beautiful, sounds great, but no manual transmission.

I’m disappointed they went with the lambo school of gun-slit window design that we’re see on more cars these days due to side-impact concerns.
I tend to get claustrophobic whenever I get in one of those cars, but I do get to pretend I’m in a tank.
Pretty sure the LF-A supercar died along with the NSX. Lexus and Acura saw the GT-R, saw they couldn’t make their cars any faster, and killed them.
