In addition to arguing against Indiana’s pension fund challenge, the Obama administration is sending PTFOA members Ron Bloom and Ed Montgomery to formally defend its handling of the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies to the Senate Banking Committee on Wednesday. This is the first such testimony from the PTFOA, and it comes (as the Freep puts it) “a torrent of criticism from Republicans about the government’s decision to take a 60 percent majority stake in GM.” Even Autoblog smells the political smoke in the breeze, fretting that the “far right wing” stands ready to boycott a newly federalized GM. Dudes, people have been silently boycotting GM for decades. But if GM gets worse, it will be nice to have that excuse ready to go.

You go, Far Right Wing! Light your torches, grab you pitchforks, and weld the doors shut on Government Motors so even the Obaminites can’t find a way to shovel our money down its insatiable maw!

What they’re looking for is the same public money to be used, but anything of value to go to private hands instead.
What is far right wing?
I think I am conservative, but don’t have a religious bone in my body.
I am for legalizing pot, in fact all drugs.
But want to have anybody caught abusing others with crime and hatred punished.
In fact, I have lobbied for the return of the torture chamber.
Any ex-sexual predator would be recognized on the street by its silly, far away stare coming from the unblinking eyes.
But just because I am kind of conservative with money and government spending…this makes be far right?
Very confused…
What is far right wing?
It’s a certain brand of widely marketed idiocy in the US.
Basically, don’t think for yourself, listen to the loudmouth on radio, pretend the claims you’re asserting are based on research repressed by academia, and if any edumacated fool tells you otherwise he’s commie, etc.

I wonder if the Obama-blue north east and left coasts, where GM is weak, will consider ‘helping’ by swapping their imports for GM.
More likely: Solid red-state America looks at GM as Obama motors – further tanking their market share.
A company that sells to consumers is better served by staying as a-political as possible and focus on building and selling good cars in this case.

You are so right!
I should listen to Al Franken,Chris Matthews, Maureen Dowd, Oliver Stone and Barbara.
We are all eople, who need people.
Now THERE’s solid direction and leadership.
Just kidding.
The only really hero I have in the media anymore is South Park creator and writer, Matt Stone.
His best quote:
“I hate conservatives, but I really fucking hate liberals.´”
agenthex-frankly the same descriptions, with slight modifications (insert something about religion inplace of “commies”) and you will cover a great many liberal arguments also.
We can whack any group all we want by picking out, and picking on, the loonies and then equating them with being “representative” of the group.
And those that “think like us” (i.e. “the right/smart/nice…fill in the blank…people, who should be in charge) will generally sign on and give hearty agreement.
Doesn’t really get us anywhere.
Just a thought.

There’s a persistent public meme that two sides to a debate are equally matched and that truth lies in between. The truth is simply the facts and logic forming a singular narrative, and any encroachment on that territory by politicians is coincidental.
Conservatism is pure poison with their wholehearted embrace of backwardness not unlike their compatriots, the islamists. I mean, these are people who found their future in radio. Much of their ideas have historically discredited, thus I guess they have to recruit from the ranks ignorant of history and pretty much everything else. They simply lack the intellectual background to function as a credible modern party. They are the GM/Chrysler of the political world, so their follower should prepare for the irony of a bailout.
OTOH, democrats are just your typical mass market political party with the moderate idiocy that entails.

Good sir, I do not care for that type of crass humoure.
Anyhoo, they’re libertarians, the worst type of ideological naivete. I saw the recent amusing episode when the boys take to somali piracy, and I wonder if they realize the joke is on themselves.
