From Automotive News [sub]:
[GM CEO Fritz] Henderson said there was no resolution yet on the [$20 million] pension for former CEO Rick Wagoner, who was ousted by the Obama administration which is overseeing GM’s Chapter 11 restructuring.
“That issue is still being reviewed by the board of directors and the compensation committee,” Henderson said. “I’m not involved in this.”
Henderson is a GM board member.

Does this surprise you? You expect Henderson to be anymore decisive and accountable that Wagoner? I mean that could set a precedent as to whether Henderson gets his own pension or not.
JFC! How do these people have jobs? I wouldn’t want this jackass to mow my lawn.
Fritz can come mow my lawn anytime, that would sure be a sight. But he’s not coming in my house for a drink of water, he can drink from the hose like the dogs.
“I’m not involved in this”
So… ummm… I guess it’s good to see the recent upheavals haven’t interfered with the corpse-orate business plans for going “forward”. Rumor has it Red-ink Rick still maintains an office in the RenCen basement near the Zoup store.
I know this isn’t fair, but damn Fritz looks like he could be Homer’s brother.
I hate to break it to y’all, but this type of decision is handled by the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. As a CEO he is definitely *not* part of the committee.
Why don’t we spend our time villainizing him for the things he’s actually done wrong?
dan.
Nothing is different and nothing will be different. It’s the same sad-sack $hit as before.
I know that guy ! I think he works at Wall Mart.
Or will.
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Pay Rick, and the public will have a shit fit. Don’t pay him, and he’d likely sue…
While Henderson’s comment is most likely true, he isn’t involved in that part of the board’s duties, the bigger problem is that this is the attitude the entire BOD had seemingly been taking for the past 20 years. Have they ever asked any difficult questions of Henderson’s predecessors?
