They are trying to put the independent Chinese “luxury” auto brands out of business.
Usually the independent Chinese “luxury” auto brands take Rolls Royce and Bentley designs and come out with uglier knock-offs, but there is no way that the Chinese will be able to come out with an uglier knock-off of this.
Really it makes the big Bentley look less like a 300C. The 300C is has a boxy front end like Rolls Royce and Bentley sedans started having with the 1980 redesign. And have had all the way to the current big Bentleys – the Arnage, and particularly the Brooklands and Azure.
The above, on the other hand, looks like an uglier version of the Kia Amanti.
My hope is that this is not the new big Bentley (i.e. Arnage) but instead an updated version of the single digit production Bentley State Limousine that the Brits use to transport that old woman they obsess over.
However, the low roofline and the timing (a new big Bentley is being teased) indicate that I am probably wrong, and that the “real” Bentleys will now be this ugly.
I kinda like it, and I’m sure this picture is not doing the car any justice. And I hate playing the “this looks like that” game, but I will have to say that it reminds me of this truck.
It pains me to see what could have been a great custom job ruined by that incessant voice to just add one more bit. The upper grill looks great, stately and sporty, perfect for the Bentley mythos. The lower grill ruins it, looks unfinished, ill-fitting, and out of place.
It sort of looks like those batteries of oversized supplementary headlights they welded to the front of Mini Coopers to do the Monte Carlo Rallye.
This is obviously part of a de-vulgarising strategy: let’s make the new car so traffic-stoppingly ugly that English Premier League footballers and other nouveau-riche riffraff won’t even think about buying it. Lord and Lady Gloucestershire will be so pleased.
Didn’t they use to make those front ends to put on your Beetle?

Next Kia Optima?
Nothing like making a Bentley look even more like a Chrysler 300C.
Twotone
Is that a character from Wallace and Grommit?
Argh, the guys who built the 70s era Stutz are back at it.

I really like this design iteration. The lines are just right. Opulent reubenesque voluptuosity. The Blackhawk reinterpretation is spot-on.
For a minute I thought it was a Chinese rip off of a Bentley….
The front end looks vaguely like a Morgan Aero 8 on steroids.
Or a flounder.

Those side effects are why steroids are illeagal.

Holy hell, it looks like a Mitsuoka Galue. Google it, or watch some Top Gear.
What’s wrong?
There is no gangsta rapper endorsing it in a video
True dat, Wolfie.
True dat!

that’s not seriously the new Bentley is it? seriously?

It doesn’t matter what everone here thinks. Didn’t anyone read the memo: China is the world’s fastest growing market?
It’s perfect (for them).
Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuun!!!! It’s ‘The Car’!!!
Looks like the Avanti is making a comeback.
