Why do they need an X3 AND an X1? BMW’s really starting to do some really stupid things. Why in the hell would they go to such lengths to dilute their brand? Seriously, the X6, 5 Series GT, the upcomind X1, and a 3 Series GT that’s supposedly coming are all completely unnecessary. This has gotten out of hand and is going to get worse.
Great to see that BMW is keeping the new X3 reasonable in size and not allowing it to get all bloated. Otherwise, it would be completely redundant with the X5 and X6, and BMW would never want that to happen.

Sajeev and Grand Charles, I just had a flashback to the 1986 brown Chevy Celebrity station wagon my dad owned. It had the backward facing third seat that flipped up in the back. Man was that thing a POS.
I have to dissent here and say that this is a pretty cool looking wagon, err, crossover.
Whats wrong with it or whats right with it depends on ones own tastes and needs. Hell some people in Detroit think if you make a small car then there’s something wrong with that. Does this car drive the way BMW’s are expected to by their customers?
All these new SUV/CUV/whatevers coming out of BMW overlap WAY too much with each other as well as with their 3 and 5-series wagons. BMW will suffer from CANNIBALIZATION as customer 1 picks the X1 over the X3, customer 2 picks the 3-wagon over the X1, customer 3 picks the X3 over the 5-wagon, etc. etc. etc.
BMW will have too many overlapping vehicles to be able to sell enough of them to cover the development costs. BMW will “GM” themselves into red ink.
BMW is rebranding Subarus?
I’ll tell you what’s NOT wrong with this picture: the brown paint.
Excellent.
No one has ever fallen in love with this one…off topic perhaps, but I have always hated FYC since they b*stardised the Buzzcocks version!!

There’s nothing wrong with it as such, but that BMW are totally confused.
Mind you, it’ll probably be possible to get it with the sweet 3L twin turbo I6 diesel …… in Europe.
They could call it X1-M.

Another stupid X BMW. Slightly less ugly than the existing ones.

No tinted window on a bimmer?
There nothing more exciting than a brown station wagon!!!!!
A last one, where is the fake wood?
Anybody else remember the BMW X-Coupe concept from 2001? This thing looks a lot like that, which I think is pretty cool
Apart from the similarity though, this thing is atrocious and does not belong in BMW’s lineup
A Nissan Rouge? In my BMW dealership?
Is it melting?
It makes me want to ignore it. Yawn…
That’s a nice-looking WRX.
I’m sure some fool will buy it – a bunch of fools, probably. But I won’t be among them.

It’s not a BMW. It’s a Hyundai Santa Fe after blasting down a manure-covered road.
I wish BMW would pare its lineup back down to just the 3, 5, and 7 series plus 1 crossover and 1 2-seater. It has too much clutter in the lineup.
BMW is outsourcing to ROK?
what’s wrong with this?? It makes me miss my E36 325is…and my E30 318is…and my 2002…and my 2800CS…I’ve been turned off from BMW for some time now…
The baby poo brown paint? Must be it. I dig the design though. Bring it to us. I would consider that when we replace my wife’s Xterra.
The brown paint is fitting. If it sees a dirt road it probably sh*ts itself.
Another over-priced BMW nobody needs.

Damn, now I feel bad for thinking that car looks awesome.
For starts, it’s ugly as sin imho, especially in turd brown.
The brown makes it look even more like molten chocolate.
It’s the best looking subaru I’ve seen in years. I like it actually. Lower than a CUV, it looks appropriately wagonesque.
That’s a nice XC60 right there.
And we thought that the Bangle butt was the worst that it could get…..Looks like someone’s been cross pollinating 9-2X’s.
TTAC should post a picture of an E39 M5 or E46 M3 next to this turd, just to show younger visitors how far this marque has fallen from grace.
whoever designs the wheels needed to lay off the drugs
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.
