Summertime, and the living’s easy, when the warm breezes wafting over the windshield gently rustles through your hair and of the pretty girl sitting next to you. Or not.

Pontiac Catalina?
1st Gen. Barracuda
Plymouth Fury Convertible. 1966, ’67, or ’68…
early 60s Olds?
None of the above. It’s much more downmarket. But it’s eluding me.
Clue implies convertible, trim and shapes imply (to me) AMC or Chrysler product – late 60’s, early 70’s.
That’s all I’ve got.
I’m smelling a Rambling Rose……. I love old AMC cars and this has to be an Ambassador
Not an Ambassador. The ambassador is too cleanly slab-sided. That piece of rubber cladding, whatever it is, just screams downmarket to me, yet, it IS something that’s trying hard to be racy. It’s not a Ford Capri, but that’s the class of being one is looking for with this. Or if there were a hot version of the Vega. (And I don’t mean one that had overheated.) Or a turbo K car convertible. (It’s not that, either though, because that wouldn’t have the crease under the door.) And it’s not a Fiero. And I’m pretty sure it’s not American Motors. But I’m still not sure what it IS.
It would be good to know if I could understand what the hell I’m looking at. I can’t make sense out of what’s on that picture.
That’s a rt.rear ¼ shot with tail light and trunk, not a door opening
Ford Galaxy?
@ Rollmo: +1
AMC Rebel?
Definitely mid-sixties, mid size sedan. Rebel, Belvedere, Malibu. Something like that.
I think Stingray got it. A 65 maybe, with an open trunk lid?
63 pontiac tempest..
I don’t think its a Galaxie. My thinking is tail end of a station wagon from early 60s-early 70s. Wagons always had oddball/obscure taillight designs. AMC? Studebaker? International Travelall? Ya got me.
Plymouth Valiant?
That Grand Canyon fit and finish says General Motors all the way to the junkyard, and the rust says “2 year old Oldsmobile” to me.
I’m thinking that it is the lower right corner of the trunk with a bit of the right tail light. But which one? It looks familiar but I can’t nail it down. 63 Olds 88? 66 Plymouth Fury?
I’m thinking Plymouth Volare or Dodge Aspen Wagon…
Are there any volar(i) or aspens left to photograph?
seabrjim : Are there any volar(i) or aspens left to photograph?
You bet; I’m acquainted with several around here, and we’ll have a CC before too long. But not this one.
@ zoom zoom..When was the last time you saw a two
year old Oldsmobile? If you need to see premature rust look no further than a Mazda or a Kia or maybe a Mercedes.
’66 Plymouth Valiant
Very tough!
1963 Oldsmobile 88
