I didn’t renew my subscription about 6 months ago, they still send it to me keeping their numbers up for the advertisers. I stated subscribing to Autoweek back in 84, when it was still in newsprint. It was my favorite mag for the longest time. It’s timely racing news was some of the best out there. It went downhill after Satch left. I miss it.
I’ve subscribed off and on to Autoweek since 1985, but I’m not renewing this time around since it has become Auto-Every-Other-Week. I bought a subscription that promised 52 issues in a year. I now get 26 issues with no refund or extension. They’ll never get another penny from me as a result.
Plus, their editorial stance has gotten to be a little preechy for my tastes.
I agree that the every other week format is turning me off AW. One redeeming quality of the mag was getting one every week, even if it was a bit thin and ad-heavy.
Autoweek isn’t the only thing AW stands for. How appropriate.
I prefer the mirror in the form of a Time Magazine cover with the “Man of the Year” coverline.

Uh, Satch didn’t “leave,” he got messed up by a sex-with-a-student charge up in Sarah Palin country.
Sometimes there’s great writing at Autoweek. Dutch Mandel sucks.
