The Civic’s messy engine compartment was quite a challenge. But blkstss stepped up and called it out pronto. He must have spent some time staring into that abyss of vacuum hoses before. Somebody in the comments asked for an interior shot, and here it is, along with my best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Just don’t forget to take a short break from the eating and find out if your guess was right. See you then.

Thanks for the speedy addition of the interior shot to the CC clues. “Ask and you shall recieve….”
Wow………..this one’s a head stratcher for me. Looks like late 50’s/early 60’s domestic.
I’m thinking, mid ’50s VW Beetle. With radio-delete plate. And what looks like the choke part way on.
I believe Willbodine’s nailed this one.
1958 Simca Etoile?
Seriously, I have no idea, except I don’t think it’s a ’50s VW.
I don’t think it’s anything I’ve ever been in. It doesn’t remind me of my VW’s either, but they were 61 and 67.
i dont know but its old!
-55 Beetle.
what Willbodine said
It doesn’t matter what it is. The day they stopped making cars with chrome knobs actually connected to something on the other side of the metal dash was the end of an era. Not sure we’re really better off for it.
mpresley, I’d settle for some real chrome.
I am thinking early 50s domestic…possibly Plymouth. (For once, I will not guess Ford LTD.)
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who reads this. I suppose you’ve all heard the story, if you’re old enough, about the guy who didn’t find out why his car was getting such rotten gas mileage until he learned that when his wife drove the car she pulled out the choke knob partway to hang her purse on it.
I’ve heard that tale told about a Ford owner, except in that version it was the parking brake, not the choke. I learned to drive on a ’74 Maverick with one of those brake handles, so I actually understood the joke!
1952 to ’57 VW Type 1 (Beetle).
You didn’t go very far to take this picture, did you?
1957 Volkswagen Bug?
