“I have to be careful on what I say, I don’t want you guys writing a story saying, ‘This Toyota guy thinks the Hyundai Sonata is a great car.'”
—Toyota’s Group VP and General Manager, Bob Carter, responding to a request to comment on the strength of Hyundai as a competitor.

Nobody taught that guy to just say “no comment” when caught in a pickle, did they. He He.
Nuff Said..lol
Clearly he is not a politician. The thing is, he’s right… I love the style of the new Sonata that is coming on sale this winter!
Loose lips sink boring Toyota Camry ships.
“Honor among thieves.” Which means he’s flattered the Sonata looks like a Solara.
Trouble in paradise, Mr. Carter?
I see autogoal in his statement. Or he PWNED himself with that.
Because he indirectly said a Chundai Sonata is a great car.
At least he knows what the Sonata is. Fritz is probably scheduling a meeting to tell his executives about that new competitor Toyota.
He didn’t say it was a better car than the Camry, he just said it was a great car. This is a non-story, IMO. Personally, I think the styling on the new Malibu is great. I wouldn’t buy one in a million years, but I can still think the styling is great.
But does the Sonata include Toyota’s Killer Floormats™? Toyota needs to emphasize this competitive advantage in their advertising.
In other news, Carter stated emphatically that he has not now, nor has he ever, stopped beating his wife.
I loved the Sonata Limited I test drove. I would have gotten it if I hadn’t been laid off earlier this year. Save for the flimsy-feeling console and sun visors (Hyundai still makes the flimsiest ever, I loved the ride and the overall solid feel of the car.
I am starting a new job next week, so I may just put it back on my list of things to get LOL.

You mean own goal? Yes. Totally.
Incredibly funny one, at that…
