According to Jalopnik, this license plate belongs to Morgan Stanley Vice-Chairman Rob Kindler, who apparently thought this kind of joke is funny. Too bad he missed bonus points by failing to put the plate on an Escalade.

The truest irony would have been to have slapped this on a Hummer H1.
Disgusting, if it’s true, regardless.
Can you say Photoshop?
I could be wrong… but seriously, it looks totally photoshopped.
Tend to agree on the photoshopped origin of this, anybody got a friend in the NY PD/DMV?
Were it true, it’d have a rock (or a 9MM) through the rear window in a matter of hours. Maybe less…
it might be real. According to the NY DMV site, this combination is not available for personalized plates, presumably because it has been issued already.

That’s New Country’s plate-holder . . . exactly what I follow to work every day going 30mph in a 35 . . . it’s usually an S though.
Greenwich also features a V50 with the CT-plates “TANK” . . . seems true with the wide-bearing corners they were taking :o
I’m also of the “wait and see” school on this.
But if it is true, he’s due for a karmic bitch-slapping.
Can’t even afford the Cayenne Turbo S?
What a loser.
It’s real, not photoshopped. Kindler told Andrew Ross Sorkin, author of the excellent book Too Big To Fail, that he had the plate made as a reminder that no one should be too big to fail and that Wall Street’s actions have consequences. So, he doesn’t think it’s a joke and he’s not being arrogant.
I might believe he doesn’t think of that as a joke, if I saw that plate on a Cavalier. or a Chevette. But when you couple that statement with a $100,000 Porsche…
It might read better as ROGNTSOB…

talkstoanimals,
I have not read that book, so I’m confused. Below is cut/paste from andrewrosssorkin.com…
01 DecThe License Plate That Says It All: 2BG2FAIL In Too Big to Fail: How Wall Street and Washington Fought to Save the Financial System — and Themselves, this picture is included of a banker’s license plate that was made as a joke after the financial crisis:
Pick up the book and look at the pictures in the middle. I think it’s on the last page of the pictures section, though I don’t have my copy handy to say for sure, or to quote the caption underneath. It’s a great book, BTW. The lack of leadership or concern for the broader consequences of the financial industry’s behaviors the book chronicles will make you sick to your stomach. But it’s very well researched, sourced and written.
there should be an open season on these guys, to keep the numbers in check.
If I may paraphrase Jefferson:
The Tree of Not Being an A-hole must be watered from time to time with the blood of douchebags.
As a former employee of this company with access to this level of management, it doesn’t surprise me one bit. Fits perfectly with the culture there. Ergo, I left.
