I’ll be the first to say it:
Wait, what????
Something more nefarious than the Prius is in the works? :o
No enough asterisks in the badge phrase “Hybrids S*** D***”?
There’s something funky with the wheels, but mostly I notice the lack of an outside mirror. I’m sure we’ll switch to cameras/screens one day, but I don’t think DOT allows that yet.
Mmmm, the drivers legs will be perilously close to the front of the car?
No hood of any kind, at least from the wierd angle.
The Hybrid badge should be much, much bigger to send the correct message.
Are we sure that this a photo of the front?
Might this be the rear end of the car? Maybe a two door? Or,,, the front end is awfully short and the ‘chrome looking’ object on top is the headlight. Hmmmm…
Toyota has a dedicated hybrid vehicle. It is wildly successful. I would think they would go more of the EV route now. But this vehicle, the color is awful. The hood looks no existent. Looks very small. I wonder if this is a Leaf competitor.
No, that’s the left front fender for sure. Probably it will be a micro car. A hybrid Yaris coupe. Brilliant, take the proven technology from the Prius and go one smaller.
A plug-in version of the iQ?
Looks like they crammed HSD into the iQ. Probably with plug-in capacity.
I think that’s it exactly.
Too little front overhang? Maybe it can borrow some from the production Volt, which seems to have plenty to spare.
It’s the new Toy Yoda Insight. 1800 pounds, 1.0 liter 3 cyl, 5 spd std shift. With the electric motor you’re looking at way more torque (~100 ft-lb) than HP (~70). 70mpg at 70 mph. on paper it looks pretty good huh?
I think this is the vehicle – or it’s at least related:
