So how many of Hyundai’s Elantra and Kia’s Forte sales were fleet related? I know I’ve seen a few Forte sedans in our on site rental facility’s fleet.
Hyundai also had substantial incentives and Elantra sales, but they don’t disclose fleet information (gee, I wonder why??)
Rockit, it seems to me I never see you comment on any non-Hyundai related topics. I read articles on TTAC all the time about various manufacturers. But I never see your username. But anytime there’s one piece about Hyundai sales or even just a photocopied sales figures sheet, you’re here…commenting on and on about Hyundai fleet sales. The comments are more often negative than otherwise.
I’m just curious. Do you have something against this company? The attention these days is focused on Toyota whom you extolled a month back on another thread.

As much as many will disagree, the newer Cobalts these days seem more rock solid than usual. Occasionally I hear people ragging on its less-than-stylish design, but who cares?

You mean the JTEKT (a subsidiary of Toyota) supplied electric power steering systems that are used on the Cobalt/G5/HHR/Equinox/Sky/Vue/Torrent?
The company that GM is currently in litigation with to pay for the ‘extra’ warranty work caused by failing units they didn’t design.
BTW, the company also supplies EPS systems for Corolla/Matrix/Vibe/RAV4/Venza/RX350.

There’s a panel van version. It would be wise of Chrysler ….errr Fiat to have some sort of Panel van model for the next gen PT Cruiser.
Clearly, the rental companies can’t find their full supply of PT Cruisers to satify their retro styled compact jones.

I am not surprised GM sold a lot of compacts. I know the Cruze is coming and a new Aveo isn’t far behind. I am pretty sure the HHR goes when the Cobalt does. Probably using fleets to move the metal they are trying to get rid of.
5,452 HHRs vs 641 PT Cruisers…talk about getting your thunder stolen. Well, I guess it’s a case of thunder being given away.
Umm… you do know it’s the last year for the PT Cruiser, right? They’re not exactly trying.
Umm, yes, I did know. My point being that I think that if they had refreshed the PT Cruiser at some point it could still be 5,000 PT Cruisers.
Then again, as I said in another thread the Journey seems to be doing well so maybe it will pick up the slack at some point.
I don’t think Scion is long for the world, especially if their volume-xB is selling in those quantities.
The Scion volume vehicle was always the tC. You know – the one that hasn’t been redesigned since the target demographic was in 8th grade?
The xB is the attention-getting flagship…the numbers were never near the tC’s.

I sometimes think the most beneficial thing Scion could do to save itself is re-release the original xB, in five new colors, otherwise unchanged.
When the Jeep Compass (which I like) outsells the Rabbit 2:1, VW really ought to be rethinking their delusions of grandeur for US sales.
