Congratulations! Your work on this issue has been outstanding (as have the comments on your posts).
Interesting. Robert Farago will be on Al-Jazeera on the same topic tomorrow. TTAC makes both ends of the spectrum this week… Or, how to stir a shitstorm by investigative journalism. Good work, Ed.
If you get a chance, please post it on the site afterwards. I’d like to see it but due to the time it airs, I will be unable to.
Congratulations also. It’s nice to be recognized for your contributions on this issue.
Are your servers capable of the additional load this will undoubtedly bring on?
Great – I have my DVR set!
Dude, you looked like an Engineer. Not that there is anything wrong with that :) … Good job, as you said – not enough time to really hit the issue. TV is tough!
Not sure if this’ll be broadcast in the UK. Does anyone know?
Update: Just checked the CNN website and at 17:30 ET there’s “World
Sport”?!
Help!
Check their online streaming at http://edition.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=stream1.
Stream does not work for me. It was showing weather forecasts a couple of hours ago, now it just says “We´ll be right back! In the meantime check out some of our other videos…” Oh well.
Congratulations! Unfortunately, I will not be at my TV at the time. Will it be on the site or CNN’s site afterwards?
Amazing…two recalls from Toyota and the whole world stops.
The 2000 Focus had 13 recalls…for one model!
good luck, should be interesting.
This is great, Ed. First, the New York Times. Now CNN. Capture it please, and post it here.
Oh and by the way, Robert Farago will be appearing on Al Jazeera, to be interviewed regarding the very same topic.
If there’s time, tell RF to try to avoid the word ‘vagina’.
Has the beloved and revered Robert surfaced anywhere yet?
Robert has a new blog dealing with e-commerce issues. It isn’t hard to find if you go looking :).
Thanks for the clue. I’ve been looking since last year =)
I hope more of the media pays attention to the great work Paul Niedermeyer has been doing on the technical side of the pedal issue.
Good job Edward, you got your point across quite well,in a short period of time.
That tie doesn’t work for you though.
Has it happened already? Damn.
If anyone has a copy of the interview I’d love to see it.
You will be more relaxed next time.
Fashion police will suggest work on tie selection.
You did fine.
WOW, that was short but to the point
Is it permissible to say Ed has the face and voice for blogging?
As usual with TV, not enough time to really discuss the topic.
Is it permissible to say Ed has the face and voice for blogging?
Yes. I’m the kind of person that, were it not for my sense of responsibility to promote this fine site, could live a long, happy life without ever appearing on television.
That having been said, I’m glad I went on, and I just wish I’d been able to discuss the issues at greater length. Then maybe we’d have something more substantive to discuss than my tie and my appearance. Maybe next time.
The segment will be posted here in about [eventually]. Thanks to all who watched!
Good for you. It takes a lot of courage to go on TV. If it were me, I doubt I could speak a word.
Congrats!!!!
For the job deployed is deserved. Why wasn’t your father invited?
Sorry, but couldn’t see it. I guess I’ll wait for the youtube version.
A fellow from Reuters interviewed me this afternoon as well. Thanks Ed for the lead on that. It was a nice conversation.
Sorry I missed out on the CNN report, I was just returning from Europe and was not near a TV set, what I realize is what someone else commented on recalls on the Ford Focus in 2000, also what I read on Phil Bailey’s blog is that certain organizations like the UAW and others are making a big thing of this Toyota recall, whereas over the last several years there have been many more recalls from the Detroit Three, its easier to blame Toyota than there own makers that’s for sure, not what I would call a “fair” comparison at all.
