The paint scheme is a big but obvious clue, but today’s cop car theme makes this irrepressible. Today’s Rampage guessing turned into a rampage of correct right guesses, within minutes of posting it. Steve Campen jumped in first. I’m guessing someone’s going to guess this one even faster.

      Its a 64 Ford, I had one.

That rocker moulding has the same shape and black-stripe configuration as my ’69 Cougar …

But the proportion and body-line of the door and door-cuts are wrong for any of the early Cougars (or Mustangs)… So I’m going to agree Ford, but can go no further.

I’m looking forward to the answer!

(@Paul) “Oh, and teacher (tentatively raising hand), I thought I was the first one in with the Rampage answer?”

I just went back and looked at the clue page, and while his says 7:40, and mine 7:46, there is definitely something wrong with the time stamp system … because unless I totally missed it, that comment was not there before, or after I posted mine … something strange is going on… only proof I have is that the people that replied to my answer would have replied to the earlier post if it had really been there at the time they posted …

Anybody able to back me up?

Robert,  Something strange happening here. I totally remember the same thing, your guess being the first. I don’t know how to explain it, unless he was anew commentator, in which case his answer might have been delayed before it was approved. It would then show up with his original time stamp. I’ll check the back end.
You get a big honorary mention anyway!!
Update: Robert, I checked; he was there first, but his comment was delayed in publication, probably for being a first timer. Sorry!

1964 Ford Galaxie is my guess. Or maybe a 66 Plymouth Fury.

I cna’t tell what car this is, although if it’s really a ’64 galaxie I ought to know it. But I do want to back up Robert Walter. I had a comment probably yesterday on something that was second when I posted, and got bumped down to fifth. I’ve noticed this other times.

Yeah, I agree with all the ’64 Galaxie folks – that little triangular character line isn’t on anything else.

I think this is a 1965-66 full size Mopar of some kind…Plymouth or Dodge. Seems like the Plymouths saw police duty a little more often, so what the heck…I’ll say 1965-66 Plymouth Fury.

Edit: This really is a tough one because the lower bodyside contours on a 1965-66 Plymouth are so similar to the ones on a 1964 Ford Galaxie. I’ve been second guessing myself…if I say Plymouth, it’ll turn out to be the Ford and vice versa. Guess I’ll stick with 1965-66 Plymouth Fury anyway.
