Sure Mitsuoka is a weird company, with a penchant for changing somewhat-boring modern cars into profoundly quirky tributes to classic designs. For example, if you really want a Nissan Versa that looks like a Jaguar Mk. II (and really, who doesn’t?), they’re the folks you go see. But is anyone imbalanced enough to desire a Mustang-based quasi-Rolls-Royce Drophead? Or is this just an attempt by Mitsuoka to out-ugly its own Orochi? There had better be a good reason for this monstrosity, because this Roller rip-off is deeply, almost intentionally hideous… as if the designer felt that the Mustang’s flank lines actually compliment the tacked-on Rolls hood. And we thought it was impossible to make the Geely GE look good…

I’m sure it’s even uglier with the top up, cause I’ll be they didn’t alter the shape of the Mustang’s roof.
The scary thing is that the Caddy-esque rear almost works.
i know, i know. is it the red interior?
That Mitsuoka “Jaguar Mk. II” was made from a Nissan March/Micra, not a Nissan Versa/Tiida.
It’s Mitsuoka, there’s nothing “wrong” when your whole mission is making stuff like this.
I can tell ya exactly whats wrong with the Stang…
It met an Eldorado and a 2011 Mulsanne that it couldn’t refuse.
Looks like a 2005 Mustang, as designed by a 1990 Lee Iacocca.
Epic front end overhang!
No speed bump clearance!
death penalty should be immediately applicable to the designer of such a weapon of mass distraction, for reasons of genocidal bad taste.
I think I just threw up in my mouth a little. Who buys these things? Trailer trash lottery winners?
What, do you even doubt that this car would be a total hip-hop chick magnet?
As if it is any uglier than the Rolls-Royce ‘inspiration’?
I think it’s a poor take on the older Rolls/Bentley grille and headlight treatment, which isn’t ugly. The front end design of the current Phantom, though, is in its own class for vulgar ostentation. I think that Bentley saw that an ugly and awkward front end design wasn’t stopping R-R from selling Phantoms so they came up with their own odd front end for the Mulsanne.
True, it’s more hinting at a Phantom V, not the current iteration.
I am proud to announce that I like this car, not so much for the looks but for the idea behind it. If I had the money I would buy this, not only would I buy this but I given the choice between this and any other car, I would choose this car. with the second most desirable car in my mind being a jaguar xk. I also like the orochi.
I feel sorry for the poor Mustang underneath all that hideousness. It’s almost like a relatively good looking woman going in for a nose job and a facelift, only to come out looking like Sarah Jessica Parker.
How do you say “because it’s wrong” in Japanese? A DeVille backside, and the face of an Austin Princess?
The Himiko, and the Galue almost work, their micro cars are cute and fun but this, the only place I can see this is on the strip in Vegas.
Dear Mitsuoka, what did this poor Mustang ever do to deserve this?
It has a front and rear only a mother would love.
What’s the big deal it’s not much uglier than any Toyota driving around the USA. Might as well throw in Honda in that ring too nowadays.
Given the poor state of the U.S. trade deficit, we really should avoid discouraging Mustang exports by saying anything bad about this car.
Mr. Presley, your car is ready.
