Eggcrates, so many eggcrates. What a popular material to fill in the blank spaces. Now which car did this one come from? As usual, it’s either going to be too easy or too hard. Well, the interior of the Bronco II went fast; talkingtoanimals nailed it on the first guess, but it kept folks guessing for a while. On your mark, get ready, set, go!

Nash Metropolitan?
Land Rover Series II.
this is my wild guess, Volvo p1800.
Plymouth Barracuda around ’66
Early 60s Chrysler
1980’s Tennis Racquet
Volvo Amazon
Toyota Cressida
Pontiac J2000?
1960 Edsel.
Pontiac J2000
I’m with I Miss Manzy; 1960 Edsel.
Four things arguably narrow the search on this grille:
1) The side is of the grille slants inward and curves at the top, either from the center of the grille or toward the headlights. Most grilles in the late 60s through 80s were rectangular.
2) There appears to be an extra chrome piece centered horizontally in the grille.
3) The egg crate has an unusually simple pattern.
4) The egg crate floats within an outer chrome strip.
Given all of that, I don’t think it is a 1950s grille, e.g., the Metropolitan’s grille doesn’t “float,” and it doesn’t have a significant slant to the grille side. Meanwhile, the 1966 Barracuda’s grille pattern would appear to be too large. Nor do I think it is a Çadillac Cimarron because the top of the grille doesn’t have a curve and there is no center strip.
My best guess is the 1979 Pontiac Sunbird. Now, I’m not sure of this because the slant may not be pronounced enough, but I’ve run out of time.
79 Sunbird was my first guess as well, but the grille is different.
I’m stumped…… I don’t think it’s a Ford product, less so a GM.
I’m leaning toward a Chrysler or an import.
(Hmm, my post didn’t take from last night)
I was thinking Toyota Cressida.
Cadillac Cimarron.
I second the 66 Barracuda. It’s different than a 65, and way different than a 67. The outside shape is the same as a 66 Valiant, but the inner egg-crate looks like Barracuda.
I actually owned both, a long time ago.
