Want to fly somewhere, but don’t want to set foot in an airplane? The Dallas-Fort Worth airport has you covered. Just remember, even if you don’t get your car airborne, it’s still probably more dangerous than flying… thanks in no small part to drivers like this one. [Hat Tip: William C. Montgomery]

Wait, wait… -Did he clear security before take-off?
And I thought it was going to be the Jeep that was going to drive over the barriers. :)
I think DFW Police will be putting him on the “no-fly” list.
(Wonder if the horn was playing “Dixie” as he launched that thing? YEEEEE-HAAAWWWW!!!)
OK, guys – what car is it?
Some sort of Chevy.

The car was a 2006 Impala and the driver was a female. The police report states she claims she was rear-ended. Uh huh.

All things considered, just another day of driving in Dallas!
Yeah, she was rear-ended by James Sikes in his run-away prius.
A rear-ended car would have burst into flames before going airborne, not to mention having its length shrunk to about 2/3, based on how fast she flew.
She was just trying to cover up her DUI condition.
CAW, Oshawa built Impala. The young lady walked/staggered away with a broken wrist and some cuts and bruises.
Don’t try that little stunt with a Huyndai.
“After landing, the woman’s car burst into flames.”
I guess NBC must have rigged it with explosives.
@Mikey:
The Impala comes with 5-star safety ratings for the front, and 4 to 5 safety ratings for the rear: http://www.carsdirect.com/chevrolet/impala/safety
The 2010 Sonata is 5-star all the way around: http://www.carsdirect.com/2010/hyundai/sonata/safety
I’ll take my chances in the Sonata.
Yeah…but will the Sonata fly that well?
OK, I’ll give you that. :)
In her drunken state she imagined she was driving a Falcon, Hawk or Eagle. But it was just the Old Crow talking.
The incident is probably one of the better marketing ideas that escaped GM’s notice. Someone out there is slowly banging his or her head against the wall: “Oh my gawd, my idea was SO much better than the the loan payoff thing!!”
I guess this is how you avoid paying toll in the south.
