Is Sergio Marchionne’s Italy-dissing getting your weekend down? Check out the Italian rebuttal, courtesy of Ferrari’s 458 Italia Challenge, the road-racer version of Maranello’s game-changing supercar. Italy may not buy enough Puntos and Pandas to keep its unions and mass-market brands happy, but it still knows how to produce some of the most viscerally intoxicating automobiles around. And when it comes to weekend entertainment, that’s good enough for us.

What an amazing machine! At one point you can even see the front brake rotor glowing!
Glowing brake rotor at 2:12 and 2:45. Wow.
Oh how I would love to spend a day with the engineers behind the 458 Italia Challenge…. someday right?
There is a glimpse of a man around the 2:15 mark who is just reading a book or staring at the ground, or something. That guy needs to get some racing religion; anyone who can ignore a 458 sailing by in full song ought to be somewhere else.
