next gen Impala
hello….. VW NMS!!!!
Look at the greenhouse, and smooth sides……VW!
Not Michigan. Texas.
This is a big car. Looks like the return of the Phaeton.
The new Phaeton has already been revealed, and this isn’t it. It looks lower and leaner, like the new A8.
maybe impala!
My first guess was a VW because of the lug bolts and seat belt adjustment. The shape of the tail lights and C-pillar suggest it’s the new Phateon.
Droopy door handles are Volkswagony. NMS?
It is definitely the NMS new mid-size sedan from volkswagen
It is hard to get a feel for the size, but it looks like it could be some kind of GM-Zeta derivative.
It’s very close to intro, given that only the ends are camouflaged. And big and boring.
I say VW NMS, the Passat replacement. Various details sort of match the exaggerated teaser sketch. The official debut will be at NAIAS in January.
Case closed:

And not news. The above shots are from two months ago.
At first sight thought the wing mirror looked very similar to that of the Taurus, but it’s identical to the one on the new passat…
Topography is all-wrong for Michigan and so are the signs.
Katy Mills Bl. is in Katy, Tx.
Btw, it appears to be an optical illusion, but I find the asymetrical nature of the spokes to be interesting. I also find it to be interesting that the illusion appears at the same place on the wheel and am guessing that this has to do with the angle from which the sunlight is coming…
Wheel distortion: cheap/slow cell phone CCDs.
Definitely taken on I-10 in Katy, TX (a far western suburb of Houston).
The car probably came in via the Port of Houston – a large vehicle port of entry – and they’ve been testing it out.
The weird wheel spokes are the result of taking pictures of a fast moving wheel with too slow a shutter speed.

Katy, TX, for sure

I’m not surprised this would be NMS – it excites me just as much as the new Jetta. Yawn…

What if…those WERE the actual look of the wheels?
I was thinking next-gen Impala, but following the roofline, it is another, boring, six-window sedan. I’ll have to agree with Mr. Karesh on this one.
If you like this asymmetrical spoke effect, then you’ll love the famous, actually-made-it-to-production Ronal Bear wheels:

Volkswagen NMS is scheduled to be built at Volkswagen Group of America’s new Chattanooga, Tennessee production facility .
Bingo.
At first look, I was going to say the upcoming Buick Cruze, but it appears to be a bigger sedan. I will side with the Volks folks.
Not only no Katy Mills Blvd, but no I-10 either.
Interesting shape of the wheel hub. Kind of looks unbalanced.
Uh Google maps AND the exit sign proved it was on I-10 In Katy Texas… so not sure where your going with that statement.
I knew it has to be a VW product from the roof mounted antenna.
And just because the sedan will be produced in Tennassee, does not mean that this pre production mule was produced there.
Whatever it is – the styling sure is conservative to the hilt.
Which is why I came in here to erroneously guess Honda accord OR Nissan Altima. whatever!
BTW: Isn’t Katy TX Roger Clemens’ hometurf?
The New VW Jetta is “Great. For the Price of Good”.
I suppose this NMS will be “Excellent. For the Price of Great”?
Definitely Katy/West I-10. I’ve lived in West Houston/Katy since 1993 and this part of I-10 used to be two lanes in and two lanes out in 1997.
Picture 1107 shows the storefront to JC Penny and the backside of Cinemark. FWIW – they were originally supposed to build a shopping center in that area, but the plans fell through, hence the back of the movie theater faces the highway instead of the front facing the highway. After you take the exit, turn left for Katy Mills.
As for the car – can’t wait to see it without the wraps.
I think the look isn’t bad but the overhangs look kind of overdone. But it’s the interior that will make or break it — if it’s as cheaped-out as the new Jetta’s, forget it. Too many competitors are going in the opposite direction.
Houston is where Gulf States Toyota (5 state distributors) is located – so my guess is this is the next gen Lexus GS…
I was going to guess Audi A6 or A8, so I feel partially vindicated in that it’s a Volkswagen.
I was thinking next-gen GM Zeta…mostly because the Chevy Volt crew is gonna be here next week and perhaps they have some prototype test vehicles in their fleet.
And yes, that’s Katy Texas, I took that exit on Saturday in a pointless attempt to get our Limo running:

2011 Tata Nano
Its wearing a leather jacket, so my guess is its some kind of car for teenagers. Or for motorbike fans.
WOW, check out the rims! Far out, man!
Must be a modern day hippie-mobile (VW).
It’s the new Alfa sedan based on the Chrysler/Mercedes RWD chassis. Or not.
