“A naked woman on the beach and much more accessible.”
Chrysler Group design chief Ralph Gilles, after having been asked what designers have in mind when they draw the replacement of the Dodge Viper. We’ll show you the clay model of the new Viper. But you have been warned.
There you go.

Another Gillesian gem:
“Private equity has its place, but it doesn’t belong in the auto industry”
Try telling that to the Ford family, the supplier sector, etcetera. C’mon Ralph, just say you thought Cerberus sucks… trust me, you won’t be surprising anyone.
Ralph should learn some early automotive history. Private equity was the only way cars companies were launched in the first place.
Still, it could have been worse. It wasn’t the Phoenix Consortium.
Could have been better, too.
The next Viper is based on an amputee?
Appropriate, I guess. Given how fast the old Viper would kill and maim.

Comment #3. I’m sure there are better pics in the interwebZ, but that one is simply awesome.
There’s another comment with the referenced model, and for being 70 it’s effin hot yet.
Nice sand sculpture.
Is it to much wishful thinking that Dodge would pull their resources and skills together to build an SLS at a lower price with an even bigger engine ie. Viper’s V10.
Sweet! Sign me up!
We’ll see what the real thing looks like. IMHO John Philips review of the last restyle has to be the funniest thing he’s ever written.
“Middle-aged men with unsightly deposits of personal suet will notice their breasts jiggling like turkey wattles. Not that we know any middle-aged men like that. Gross.”
I nearly fell out of my chair reading that line… and felt immediately ashamed for resembling that remark more than I care to admit.
According to an article in autoblog today ford is also working on another GT.
Looks good, stuff a V-10 in it (I’m not saying where) and we’re off and running.
