One year after debuting the closed version of the R8 GT in Paris, Audi will show the mess-up-your-significant-other’s-hair model at the Frankfurt IAA this fall. The Audi R8 Spyder GT will be sold as a limited series of only 333. It should be available in early 2012 at your friendly Audi dealer in Europe for 207.800 Euro ($303,886 usual disclaimers apply.) Hit the jump for pictures ….
For that, you will get V10-FSI-mid-engine, which converts 5.2 liters into 560 hp. It will catapult you in 3.8 sec to 62 mph. If nobody’s looking, or if you are on one of the rare no-speed limit stretches of the Autobahn, your SO’s hair will be mussed at a top speed of 317 km/h (197 mph).
Germany’s auto-motor-und-sport says that a “modified engine computer” made the 525 hp of the regulation R8 grow to 560. In addition, the R8 Spyder GT is 85 kg (187 lbs) lighter than the closed version. Get a skinny GF for the test drive, otherwise you’ll negate the expensive diet of magnesium alloys and carbon fibers.

Hmm, a Corvette and a Camaro in Frankfurt (00:15). Wonder if they belong to our military personnel?
I still prefer the white coupe with black carbon side baldes. My goal is one day to do an European Delivery on one of this.
