Users of BMW Online in the US can now access Yelp in their vehicles, BMW says. Customers can yelp for everything from the best local restaurants and boutiques to parking garages and banks.
If you subscribe to the BMW Assist Convenience Plan and have a navigation-equipped vehicle capable of receiving the BMW Online you can yelp today, BMW promises. Mor apps are on their way.

Let me be the first to ask…
WTF does it mean to yelp and should I be doing it while driving?
Thank you for asking this question. I thought I was crazy because I’ve never yelped. It sounds kind of perverted really.
It’s an app to find reviews on local eateries. At least that’s what I use it for.
What gets me is why encourage people to get in their car and start driving when they don’t even know where they want to go yet?
Yelp, in a new beemer, you should!
wish I could get Yelp in my Honda. I heard they just applied for an IPO.
The only thing I used yelp for (at work) is to get a $20 coupon for $10 for my local bar. Honestly, I can’t decide what’s more dangerous, me driving my car from that bar after endorsing the coupon, or some dbag driving a bimmer and yelping. I say it’s the latter.
I, for one, do not like, or ever want, any of this whizbangonlinearcadevirtualinfotaincrap in my car. Heck, I don’t even want navigation in my car. I suspect it’s only going to get harder and harder to find a car without all this junk, though.
+1. I would also add touch screens to the mix. They cost more, don’t work as well, and are more difficult to use than traditional controls.
I only hope that there will be a wake-up moment like with automatic seat belts where everyone realizes what a horrible idea they are.
All of this stuff is available on everyone’s smart phones.
Why do the already complex and expensive vehicle electronics needs this extra layer of stuff?
Shouldn’t what these manufactures be doing is working on better integration of smart phones with their in dash LCD screens?
Yelp is pretty cool though, if you have used it. But I really don’t need, or want, Yelp in my automobile.
Don’t care about yelp, but that F10 equipped with the M-Sport package in carbonschwarz sure does look good.
I cannot comprehend auto manufacturers are encouraging driving distractions. BMW started idrive, BMW assist (siri on 80 mph), BMW apps, and what’s next?
Yah, once Bimmers got cup holders, the jig was up
