Things Russia has that we don’t; oligarchy, grinding poverty, face control and the 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander. Wait, never mind. We have all of those!
Mitsubishi will launch their 2013 Outlander in Russia this summer, followed by a world-wide launch later this year. The diesel version gets a start-stop feature, while we’ll likely get a 2.0L gasoline 4-cylinder. Adaptive Cruise Control, a lane departure system and a collision avoidance system are also featured – other than that, no details will be announced until the Geneva Auto Show. Oh yeah, three rows of seats.

Is this the game changing new face of Mitsubishi they were teasing everyone about?
That game must be “old maid” cuz that’s the only person I see driving this abortion.
Nah. They still have to uglify it with federalized bumpers first.
I’m sure the 5 people in the US considering an Outlander are just thrilled…
7 people. It’ll seat 7. :)

More proof that the average driver doesn’t actually care about driving their car.
So what happened to the current Audi-esq design that they are currently using for the grill? Just tossed out the window? I believe an evolutionary approach might have been better. This looks like they are trying to go back to the 2003 look.
The Japanese designers must be suffering the effects of too much radiation from that nuclear plant.
Not bad… though the face looks like a six year old Montero/Pajero.
At first I thought I was looking at some kind of PSA (Peugeot/Citroen) product.
PSA sell Mitsubishi’s crossover products (including the last Outlander) as rebadges in Europe. So you kind of are looking at a PSA product, albeit I’m sure they had very little input.
I would suggest they leave it in Russia.
This is a seriously ugly vehicle.
Looks like it’s wearing a dental night guard.
This has got to be a joke. THIS is gonna go up against the new Escape and CX-5? And/or conquer sales from the RAV4 or CR-V?
Mistubishi is on the ropes as it is with sales in the US, if this twisted Pokemon cr*p is the new face of Mitsu’s, well sayonara then…more sales for the other struggling Japanese manufacturers.
A clean, unoffensive, proportioned look. I prefer it over the newest CRV.
You would be the only one.
This thing wouldn’t even be on my radar, and apparently isn’t on anyone elses given Mitsu’s terrible sales figures for the past 5 years.
Only the small SUVs from Toyota and Kia can seat 7 as and option. If seating 7 is standard with this one, it could be an advantage. The biggist problem with Mitsubitshi (and to a lesser extent Mazda), is that there are not enough dealerships to justify the pruchase. Many medium sized towns do not have a dealership, so even if the car is competitive, why bother if there are other alternatives in which you can get warranty service everywhere?
It is as if Mitsubishi is trying to fail.
This thing is hideous, and the design is straight out of a 1990’s design studio.
Except that this product was designed for Russia.
