Now, this isn’t something I picked out of my nose. This is Suzuki’s new A-segment concept, a car that weighs a mere 1600 lbs.
Already unveiled as the Suzuki Regina at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show, the car will now be dubbed the G70 when it gets its second showing at Geneva. The G70 is about the size of a Fiat 500 and uses an 800cc gasoline engine, a CVT gearbox, regenerative braking and a start-stop feature to achieve 75 mpg. You’ve got to hand it to Suzuki…it’s certainly different.

Looks like a Mercedes Bionic.
My first thought too. That boxfish-inspired shape, mixed with some Fiat 500 Zagato.
I heretofore thought that no one could out ugly BMW.
I was wrong.
Looks like a Renault from the 60’s.
That’s what I thought! It’s kinda cute in a vacationing in France circa 1962 2CV kind of way.

I see Citroen DS21 from the ‘A’ pillar back.
I also see Citroen, but Ami 6.
Why on EARTH would anyone name any product in any industry a “Regina”….knowing the market reactionwill be to indulge in a vulgar, juvenile propensity to rename that product with a rhyming term that starts, in this case, with a ‘V’….
Maybe they just should have called it the ‘Runt’….
Jus’ sayin’…..
If you read the whole post, you would see that they have already changed the name to G70.
Hey, don’t be slagging Regina! It’s a wonderful Canadian city. Have you ever been there…? Uh, never mind….
I thought this car was the front of an older VW and the rear of an older Citroen, too. The color is unfortunate, but I suspect it might look better in person, sort of like the Ford Ka did when it went all jelly bean.
Oh, its not the new NSU by Audi?
I like it. Very cute, has the usual Japanese Peeved-Pokemon face.
It’s all anyone needs to commute solo in.
Falcor would have been a much better name.
There is a definite pug quality to this vehicle – it is hard to not find something that awkward at least a little appealing.
And I may not be much for nicknaming my car, but referring to it as “the booger” might actual stick…o! Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
Why, that’s a modern DKW 3=6. The predecessor of the DKW Junior, and Audi.
Suzuki is having fun with VW. Sell us back our shares or else, we’ll unleash this!
What? No roof-line knockoff of the Mini Countryman? How dare they come up with a styling concept that’s original.
no.
I know I shouldn’t, but I like this…there is finally a good use for “adorkable”.
If you want to see the folks I think this car is aimed at, check out http://www.japanesestreets.com
By the way, I have nothing to do with the site.
I see an angry teenage Renault 8 head neatly grafted to the body of a baby Citroen DS21. A car like this could never be picked out of the nose of a North American. No, this must have been plucked from the ear of a cheese maker in Province. If Suzuki planned a “break” version with a six speed manual and a super-efficient diesel engine I would most definitely boast of buying three. And if they actually built such a conveyance I’d most certainly forget what I just wrote.
What you have there is The Creature From The Black Lagoon.
