Automotive News is reporting that the Nissan Leaf will eventually get a restyling specific to Europe as well as increased range. But our Nissan sources say that’s not entirely accurate.
Apparently, that’s not the case. Our Nissan sources recommend not to expect too much for the alleged restyling. They are likewise unenthusiastic when it comes to the allegedly increased range. “The Leaf built in Cumberland will be a Leaf built in Cumberland,” says our source. “Nothing more, nothing less.”

Maybe what Colin meant to say is that they will have a different charger plug designed to fit European electrical outlets.

Bland sells, and I like the looks of the Leaf, anyway.
If you want a snazzy EV, buy a Roadster or Model S. If you want it to look like a science project, buy an i-MiEV.
Yes bland does sell. I also enjoy the looks of the Leaf especially the taillights. I have high hopes and low expectations with the Nissan Leaf and I am sure Nissan feels the same.
I’d suggest that you find a more credible source. The LEAF will be made in Sunderland, not Cumberland.
More range is not easy, and why would they bother?.. 30 minute fast chargers are popping up all over Europe in an attempt to deal with $9 a gallon fuel.
Haven’t they had $9/gallon fuel forever?
